Mona,
I have never really been a tennis shoe person, much preferring boots or loafers. For years I kept a pair of Adidas just case. I owned one pair of free Pony shoes given to me by a certain NFL RB with a Pony contract. My first pair of Nike shoes were a gift from an FBI agent who had a special deal with Phil Knight back in the early days of the company.
The entire goofer-neck deal has caused me to reject any additional Nike purchases - the shoes, the "hidden contract" worth millions, etc.
Adidas walked into the PNG Superintendent's office with an offer to rebrand the school with new equipment, uniforms for athletics, band, drill team, mascot, etc. Fortunately, Ronnie told them that "We have pride, we have tradition, we have a Treaty", get the f**k out of my school, out of my town, out of my county, and out of my state. He suggested that the DPS arriving to escort them take them across the Sabine River, because if they headed to Houston, there was a resident there whose mother negotiated that Treaty, and if he found out, they might have difficulty making it past Anahuac. I would buy Nike before anything Adidas.
After dancing with a mare at the ranch, I have had seven surgeries on my leg and foot, plus two back surgeries. The doctors want me out of my boots and in tennis shoes (will never happen). Every one of them recommended New Balance. Because of a temporary brace, I need a 4E, which New Balance makes. Never owned New Balance, but after a couple of months, I highly recommend you try a pair.
