Big Henry Shelton is denied a TD he should have bulled his way over for, but the Horns get a safety and prevail 25-22 in the 'shoe at night!!
we went through ticket city ... lower deck, ohio state faculty section, cant remember what yardline, pretty good though we were season ticket holders but not hi enough foundation donor to get tix through Texas I remember the Limas Sweed touchdown was the other endzone to our left I think we paid $750 per ticket -- it was a lot but we had a blast
There’s a YouTube video that’s condensed to about 40 minutes of just plays. No waiting for game clock. Lots of the bigger games on there too
I was in Kuwait when that game was played. There was a huge contingent of Ohioans at the base and very few Texans. In the days leading up the game, we Texans were constantly reminded how bad were about to be beaten. The game was shown on a huge screen in one of the dining halls. Most of the guys were in uniform, but there were a lot of OSU jerseys and jorts. Just a sprinkling of burnt orange. I don't think I've ever had more fun singing the Eyes. I also don't think I've ever seen worse losers than OSU fans.
They had the Fiesta Bowl after the 2008 season vs tohiostate on LHN today when Quan catches slant with less than 20 sec remaining to win----but do remember the '06 game at DKR where GDavis wouldn't release the reigns on Colt yet and the luckeyes won (on their way to the MNC)---always thought we were good with Vince and Colt DESPITE GD playcalling--despite being a RS Fr QB think would have given them a much better game if let Colt play HIS game...
I was there with my brother. We were at the Horn Fans bar on High Street before and after the game. We sat on the east side under the upper deck near the 20 yard line toward the north end. Don't recall, bought tickets from someone that day, maybe $150 a piece at the most. Never forget after the game. A bunch of us walking back to the bar. Several Longhorn females. Car load of young sorority looking types pull up in a car, roll down the window, and scream at the Horn women "*******, whores" etc. That was about as good as it got with their POS fans for those who have forgotten or didn't go.
Was at that game, too. Very disappointing. Felt like we had a better chance to win than we put forth. My nephew, 10 at the time, did get Michael Griffin's autograph afterward. Nice guy.
Yep. Night before the game at the HF bar, some ***** threw her drink on me. All we heard was they had never lost in "The Shoe" at night and Ted Ginn, Jr. was more talented than VY. No serious football talk whatsoever.
Not following you. We were #2 and they came into DKR #1. Just saying following the NC and the hype leading ups to this game, it was disappointing.
Not really, just replying to @Horn87. He mentioned that one. Back to 2005.... It was so satisfying belting out "The Eyes", yes, I said it. So allsome!
Remember how the story was still "Vince is a phenomenal athlete but he'll never win a big game with his arm, only his legs" up until he hit Limas perfectly in the hands just over the head of the defender there? Also, yeah, that "Ted Ginn is unstoppable" crap we heard all offseason was hilarious in hindsight. Ginn was a complete non factor all game long. Three touches on the evening, which went for 6, 3, and -2 yards.
I was at the game with a buddy; def one of my top 5 UT football road trips. I have a story about Kirk Herbstreet/the ESPN gameday crowd that I will save for another time...
My Austin friend and I (I was living near Seattle at the time) made reservations for Columbus on the off chance that we could snag some cheap tickets. I'd checked the Ohio State ticketing website a few times a week for three months despite reading on a tOSU message board that the ticket office said no Texas tickets were going to be available. On Labor Day, the Monday before the game, I checked again, and for about a 20-minute period, scattered UT-tOSU tickets were available. I snagged a couple in the nosebleed seats on the goal line (on the same goal line but the opposite side of the field from where Limas made the catch)—$58 each + $3 handling fee. On the flight from Chicago to Columbus, I got several offers for $300-$350 for each of the tickets. No sale. Best Longhorn game I've ever seen live.
