Yep, but I doubt Tucker will jump ship for LSU. Not with that $$$$ on the table and Tucker’s deep ties to that region. He could be the star for life up there. If he goes to LSU and has a few off years, they’ll run him out of town on a rail.
Expectations are a lot higher at LSU, so Jimbo would be wise to stay. Plus he’s doing a hell of a lot better than our stinking mess.
And that's because the same players remain. Give Sark time to clean house and get one or two of his own recruiting classes in.
The culture has been toxic for a dozen years. We can’t just keep blaming the previous guy. What a sick cycle we’re in.
James Franklin signs 10 year extension. Depending.on who you listen to a lot of Penn State fans were hoping he'd move on.
Good for State Penn, they deserve what they got - grossly overpriced; under qualified, under productive, and considering the way they covered up Sandusky & Paterno, maybe they can paint over the rapes at Vanderbilt.
What has Franklin ever done to warrant a four year contract, much less ten? Which number is greater? His number of major bowl wins OR the number of players in prison for sexual assault?
New Mexico State Aggies Coach Doug Martin is expected to be let go. Interim TCU Coach Kill is getting a lot of buzz as the likely replacement.
Meanwhile, at TCU... The Frogs are growing more and more confident that Sonny Dykes will move across the Metroplex to coach at TCU. Latest college football coaching rumors: Napier a lock at Florida? - Sports Illustrated
Looks like the Baptists are gonna throw some money at Aranda to attempt to get him to stay put....................... Report: Baylor putting together extension for Dave Aranda
SMU, while hoping to keep Dykes onboard with the big $$$$, is also talking about Rhett Lashlee (OC Miami; former OC SMU and Auburn) as a replacement if Dykes jumps ship to TCU. Justin Fuente (fired from Va Tech) is another name that pops up... Sources: If Sonny Dykes leaves for TCU, SMU is targeting Rhett Lashlee as his replacement
Florida is getting a some buzz as the place that Billy Napier might say "yes" to. Over the past few years, Napier has supposedly rejected offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, and some other fairly high profile teams. He could be gunning for the LSU job, but Florida is a great platform to build a champion--much better than Ole Miss and Auburn. Latest college football coaching rumors: Napier a lock at Florida? - Sports Illustrated
Each Sunday, at the Baptist Churches, they'll need to sing Just As I Am about 40 times while they pass the collection plate over-and-over-and-over to raise enough $$$$ to keep Aranda at that place...
Not what I expected. Campbell, like ISU, has been overrated. Dude can’t beat Iowa to save his life. I still think Fickell will get the USC job. They can do better than Campbell. That place demands 10+ wins, year in and year out. They don’t tolerate pretty good. (Sound familiar anyone…)
There’s another thread about the possibility of Gundy to LSU. Here’s what I’ve been able to find on the net: Riley said a definite NO to leaving OU for LSU. Gundy is just speculation, but the rumor is gaining steam on places like TigerDroppings, 247, and other rumor mill sites. 2 major SEC programs are in need of a new coach—Florida and LSU. I personally don’t think Mel Tucker ends up at either. I think Fickell is likely the Trojans’ next coach. But, if USC goes in a different direction, either Florida or LSU should jump on Fickell. Gundy will do well whether he stays or goes. He’s got a good thing going at his alma mater, but with the Big 12 about to lose UT and OU, he might consider a jump, especially if the $$$$$ is right. Napier would also be an acceptable choice for either LSU or Florida. Recent rumors are trending towards Florida for Napier. It’s a tad ironic since Napier is such a Louisiana guy. Maybe Baton Rogue is unimpressed.
