Lonnie Alameda just got: 1. Pay raise 2. Contract extension 3. More money for assistants 4. Promises on new construction Sounds about right for Mike to get all of the above. Construction-wise, I know that Mike would like shade/cover for the stands (that's doable like tomorrow). And a new stadium, which is probably 2024-2025 when it would start. CDC knows we need a newer stadium for the SEC. Plus, he loves to build things.
I thought the Arkansas softball stadium was amazing. Quote “One of the most striking aspects of Bogle Park is the dramatic entrance on the concourse level. Upon entry, fans see the field and then descend down into the seating area which is home to 1,200 chair-back seats. There is space for grilling and groups in the outfield area and six modern skyboxes overlook the field.” This is the exact environment college softball teams need! The family environment.
I've never thought our softball stadium was all that great, even when it was new. It's always seemed like it was built on a budget.
Has the look and feel that it was Lego'd together. I like UCLA' s, LSU, Ga. Fl and yeah, even the piggies among others.
Can't leave out a&m's davis diamond field. which is probably best in the country....sigh We deserve a facility like that here at Texas. I bet if CDC is given the funds ours would set the standard for softball stadiums.
Mike White wasted no time getting our new coach. Saw she was a volunteer with Oklahoma this past season. It’s a win in my book
Zaleski is a winner. She coached at Temple JC for a few years building that program with her dad and won a couple national championships. She's the real deal and will be a HC somewhere in D1 pretty quickly.
Hailey Dolcini Back In The Circle Great interview with Hailey. Talks about the season, the post-season and the transfer portal from a player's perspective. And at the end, it confirms she'll be a GA for softball in the next season.
