From all the bitching about San Antonio and the Alamo bowl thrown around by some posters here, I am amazed we sold one ticket at all.
Washington's had the "Big Penix Energy" jokes going all year. He's got a great arm, zipping the ball all over the field with apparently little effort. But their defense has suffered a lot with the departure of coach Pete K. two years ago. If you like seeing a lot of points scored, this could be the game for you. (I’m a Texas grad, but I spent 12 years near Seattle and watched a lot of Huskies football and basketball while I was there. I still stay up late, sometimes into the wee hours of the morning, to watch the Huskies play whenever I can.)
There's, what, maybe 20 really active posters in On The Field on a consistent basis. That's a good gauge lol.
I drive 200 miles to go to our games in a stadium where my eardrums get blown out with cruddy music and amplified crowd noise, where the food is overpriced garbage, the product on the field is erratic and the roofless stadium is hellishly hot for early season games against mostly pushover opponents ALAMO Bowl gets a good opponent from the PAC every year and I drive 130 miles. SA has a CIA campus that spits out scores of excellent cooks. SA has a lot more good eateries than Austin (Houston still the best) they just aren't on the river walk. Based on our play this year we could easily be playing in the Toilet Bowl or staying home. A couple more years like the last two and we get a lifetime achievement award from the underachievers hall of fame
Good stuff here. Mainly posting it due to the nuggets on Ewers and the receivers chemistry in practice... Texas Football: Good news is on the horizon
