Sonya had a noticable limp during the 4Q. I believe she took a knee to her thigh so she may have a mild contusion to her right leg. Did Sonya mention her injury during the interview? I'm sure it isn't considered serious since she played after she went down.

KState just beat IowaSt in little apple. Sorry I'm putting it here, but we're now alone in 1st.

She was in a great mood and didn't mention any injury. She seemed thrilled that she got to play the whole game.

I listened to the post game as well.

Craig Way asked Sonya how she felt after playing all 40 minutes. Her response was "I'm a bit tired and beat up." See, even a senior who has experienced several seasons playing in DePaul's fast paced games is tired after playing 40 minutes for Texas in a much slower-paced game (albeit she's also playing defense every possession). I'm sure if Vic didn't feel like he had to play her all 40 minutes, he wouldn't have as it takes its toll on a player, regardless who they are.

She seemed really happy when Craig told her Texas could be alone in first place if KSU would go on to beat ISU. Sounded like a player who hasn't been part of a team who held a first place standing in conference play.

Nice to gut it out on the road on a night where we weren't at our best. Ughhh, the unforced TO's.. . and we have GOT to fix the free throws!

Kudos to the WV announcers. Unbiased and very professional.

I am so tired of refs inserting themselves into the outcome of a game. Anticipating fouls is complete BS.

What the actual F with free throws??? They are called free for a reason!

Sorry. I wasn’t able to get on the site all day due to the winter stuff.

I knew we were going to win. Never in doubt. Not once. Not even at the end of that third quarter. :yikes: Seriously? WTH happened there? It was as if we decided to stop playing. WV scored more in the third than they did the entire first half. NEVERTHELESS I was absolutely 100% without a doubt certain we would win. EVEN when we missed 8 free throws. No. ESPECIALLY when we missed 8 free throws. The more we missed, the more I was convinced we would win. And let’s not forget the 18 turnovers. That was money in the bank. 18 turnovers always leads to a win. And the 22 fouls. Winner! When the refs don’t let you play, you end up winning.

Oh and I knew ISU would lose to KState. Knew it.

And I think thee years ago I said Texas would win the Big 12 Conference in 2023. I believe I used the word guaranteed.

Ok so here’s what I got from the game tonight.
    1. D Gatson was a victim of those phantom big 12 fouls
    2. Faye as well with the fouls then Rori fouls twice that I counted and it goes her way. I feel like they was bias tonight no matter the team officiate every player the same.
    3. Sonya got HOTT finally and showed the microwave flamethrower off that is her scoring ability.
    4. I though Vic went with Taylor a little to long in the third and they got back in it by attacking her with the pick and roll she was slow tonight to me
    5. Usually it’s Sonya that’s gets us started but tonight it was Shaylee they kinda reversed but we’re not in this game without Shaylee in the first 1/2
    6. The announcers were good from a non bias standpoint even tho the lady was a wvu wbb hall of famer
    7. Out media team kinda pissed me because if you didn’t watch this game you would think we won because of Rori and tonight she didn’t play well to me yes she had 14 6ast 6reb and 4 stls but her efficiency was not good as she had some head scratching TOs. We was carried/ paced by Sonya and Shaylee tonight and Taylor as well. I love Rori make not mistake I’m not bashing her just saying how I seen it tonight. I’m a little scared of KU they not only want to avenge the L we gave em but they want to get back to winning so the ladies are going to have to really be up for it.

Absolutely. Every game I've ever heard announced from WVU has always been very professional and unbiased. They do a great job there

Glad you made it.:bevo:Keep it up!

I felt confident that Texas would win after listening to the full audio broadcast, and even more so after streaming the game later on ESPN+.

Put these predictions and THIS WIN, of course, in the bank, and on to the next victory. :hookem:

West Virginia plays good defense. They lead the league in turnover margin both overall and in conference. Texas went into the game second and came out second. I‘m looking forward to watching the game. Maybe it will seem less like a trip to the dentist knowing the outcome as I watch. My house is still without power for now. But at least the internet access is back. And I have a gas stove to heat water and food! Yeah. Hot coffee, Hornfans, my dog and my blanket. Morning is ok.

Even knowing the outcome, you will not enjoy the second half of the third quarter. I guess this team likes to play with fire.

I get that it was a Wednesday evening, but were they having bad weather in Morgantown? Only 1,600 in attendance is dismal. You got a new coach West Virginia. Show her some love.

Billy Smith, who also reffed the Tech game, is the worst. If he’s on the court, the whistle is blowing.

Back to back out of state road games are tough. But I guess the out-of-state schools have to do that all the time. We may not get to practice before the KU game.
