If we look at the last four years of recruiting, who has better talent than this team? Are the recruiting classes bogus or are the players not being developed?
There has been huge attrition on the offensive side of the ball over the last 4 years. I believe it is 21 of 38 recruits are still on campus.
what lagohorn said - we have had a perfect storm of attrition, injuries, and busts on the offensive side that has come to a head this year ketch or one of those guys detailed it well - there are alot of guys we were counting on that just aren't playing because they left, they are hurt, or they were a bust. and its much more concentrated than usual in terms of a time span and one side of the ball. usually the distribution evens out over time - we really got hit hard and this is the year it culminated
I don't really buy that we don't have the talent. Even the guys that have proven they can play well in the past are playing like crap this year. We may very well have a couple of guys that didn't turn out to be the players we thought we were getting ,but by and large these are guys that were getting it done last year and they aren't this year. The only thing that changes that quickly is your mental state. They didn't all of a sudden become incapable of benching 400 lbs or running 4.5's. They did however lose their desire and intensity.
