Last night, I don't remember if it was one of the game announcers or studio or both, but it was remarked: "I think right now this Texas team would be THE number one seed in the tournament."

Not A, but THE overall number one seed.

    Gosh..... [IMG]

^yeah I heard that too. That was during their talk about how there hasn't been any truly great teams this year, and how Texas could be THE great team of 2010-2011.

Football a bit down, baseball a itsy bit down, so basketball is "maybe the best team in the country right now."

    We are the Joneses.

Actually, Florida had the best recent run of the big 3 sports, winning a couple of BCS titles, a couple of basketball championships, and finishing 2nd to, ahem, Texas at Omaha.

Nonetheless, it's good to be a Horns fan in the '00s, and '10s.

A bit down in baseball? We were stacked last year despite an early exit to TCU, and we're expected to resume where we left off this season as I understand it.

Closing in on KU in the media and coaches polls. Gained about 10 points in each.

Ya only 10 behind KU in the AP poll.

Unfortunately they play Mizzou this week so we likely won't gain ground on them.

Looked into the AP rankings... 33 voters have KU ahead of Texas; 32 have Texas ahead of KU. So, KU likely will have to lose for Texas to move ahead.

blonthang I'll agree with that. Baseball is probably the only sport where we have higher annual expectations than football. Texas IS college baseball. It was our first sport, and we've dominated it since the beginning.

KU looks to be back in stride now after dismantling Mizzou in the 2nd half.

Seeing again how they typically play in the Phog really underscores what the Horns accomplished on their court.

Voters will always have a political agenda if even only subconsciously. A program that has history and tradition gets an advantage because they're a proven commodity and, if we're honest, KU has proven it's basketball commodity repeatedly just as we have our football one.

That being said, I couldn't care less about the polls in basketball because it don't make a **** and is nothing more than a beauty pageant. I don't care if we're the pig with lipstick as long we're holding that trophy in April.
