Obviously too early to say, but damn! He looks like a winner from day 1. Unfortunately Jordan had so many early injuries, but turned into a fantastic player. With health on his side, you can see how Jaxson can be as good.
Because it's football and we debate everything. And yes it;s early, so compare young Jaxson v. young Jordan
Young Jaxson v Senior Jordan no debate but young v young, wow Jaxson defintiely is going to be special and is showing he is in conversation.
Jordan was uncoverable...too fast, too shifty, too elusive. And when the ball got near him, he was going to catch it. That said, Jordan was more than anything consistent and smart. You combine great athleticism with consistency and moxy...you have an All-American and someone who should have won the Belitnikoff. Jaxon is a flat out monster. Faster, bigger, more explosive. I don't know if he has the agility or hands of Jordan, but wow.
I've watched Jaxon since his 8th grade, & my view is that he has the same kind of hands & agility as Jordan. He's also just as avid at fishing & hunting. He's really fun to watch!
Let's get this straight now. His name is JAXON Shipley. No freaking 's'. Jaxson is on the same team as Quan Crosby and John Childs.
When Jaxon graduates, retire the number 8 and list the player as "J. Shipley" (possibly with a tag line underneath it reading "Roomate of C Mccoy")
Hope 4 years from now (and not 6) that #8 can be retired. Jordan said on radio interview tonight that Jaxson is faster than him, but that he (Jordan) stays inbounds better. Hook'em!!!
^ Haha. Jaxon is definitely fast. Fastest player on the team maybe? Coming into the game I would have said DJ Monroe but Jaxon at least appears to be his equal in the speed department.
How great is it to have DJ and Jaxon as weapons. With Malcolm (in the middle) and those guys coming off the wing possible taking the ball will wreak havoc on the Defense. There will be some very long running plays this year. Hook'em!!!
I wish we could have seen Jordan play without the horrible knee and hamstring injuries. Then again, without those injuries he would have been in the NFL and we wouldn't have had him in the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Hmmmm...... I wish we could have seen Bo Scaife play without the horrible knee injuries he suffered. I hear he never regained the speed he had in high school, but he has still been able to be a starter in the NFL for 6 years.
Jordan's the best WR in Longhorn history so I'd hardly claim Jaxon to be better. There's a lot of football to be played & proven in big games before I declare Jaxon better...but great start!
