What should one expect? I hear they try to rattle you, and you really need to be on your toes. I also hear they may ask you off the wall riddles. Such as: How many dollars in revenue did the paint indusrty have last year? or you have a 3 gallon jug and a 5 gallon jug, how do you make exactly 4 gallons?...stuff like that. Any input would be helpful.
Yeah, fill the 5 gallon jug, pour it into the 3 gallon jug. Empty the 3 gallon jug and pour the remaining contents of the 5 gallon jug (2gal.) into the 3 gallon jug. Fill the 5 gallon jug again and pour it into the 3 gallon jug. 4 gallons will remain in the 5 gallon jug unless you spill.
you have 9 balls & a balance scale. 8 are the same weight, 1 is not. what is the fewest number of moves you can make to identify the one ball of different weight? also, you might want to take a look at the vault, which used to have free discussion groups. not sure it still does...
You may get some brain teaser questions, that's true. You may also get some more substantial questions that are aimed at seeing how you think about a business problem. In general, I have found that the more junior the interviewer is, the more likely they are to be ******** because they can and to ask BS questions.
my cousin just got a job at some I bank. like bank of scotland or something, whatever it is, its big time. he said that in one of the interviews he went into a room and a guy just sat there reading the paper and wouldn't say a word to him for 30 minutes. so he just started talking to him about sports. he got the job so i guess that was ok.
I am on my 5th intern, and I found this article very helpful www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/fog0000000073.html Don't forget to show some aggressiveness in following up and asking for the job.
