Might depend who #10 (or 11 or 12) is. Otherwise I would assume Tech since it appears that Texas will be saddled with them until they can be dumped like aggy (yes aggy you were dumped - Texas could have stopped your move at anytime with a few well placed calls to certain Legislators).

Speaking of the Cowboys, perhaps Texas will do it like they do and rotate conference opponents on Thanksgiving.

We should set up an OOC game with LSU in Houston on Thanksgiving every year. [IMG]

Could Texas rotate turkey day opponents and play them in Austin year in and year out??

"IF" and that's a big "IF" Mizzou departs for the SEC as word has it, who's left? OU is the state fair every year, don't mess with that. Baylor is close and a home and home would be accessable, but would that necessarily be a National interest caliber game? Tech? Same issue. OOC team? But who would be able/willing? ND? Maybe. OSU? Good conference opponent. We will have 8 teams left by 2012 or 2013. So to still be the BIG 12 and keep a BCS tie in, who does the conference invite that has a draw and TV market?

For now, maybe a Baylor would be good since they are doing much better now but I don't see that lasting more that a couple of years.

Someone suggested that a subtle jab at A&M might be to schedule all the other SEC teams as OOC games over the next dozen years or so.

Notre Dame, Baylor, or Tech are probably our best bets.

Though I think Hawaii would be pretty cool...even though their program isn't stellar, a road trip to Hawaii for Thanksgiving would be pretty kickass.

Boise State would be a fun game for Thanksgiving, too. They've been in the top ten the last few seasons, and you have the intrigue of Harsin going up against his old program.

The trouble with Thanksgiving is that this is the week that a lot of teams play their big rivalry game. It's going to be tough to find quality OOC competition that isn't already engaged in a big rivalry game that week.

They have been in discussion with Notre Dame about making it an annual thing. Just guessing..it's all but official.

The national draw aspects might say something outside the conference, but I still like Baylor.

There is enough season-long exposure and tv time nationally that this won't matter that much, in my opinion.

Thanksgiving is a time for family, it's a family holiday. There is often more travel on that weekend than even for Christmas. So I'd make it about family. I'd make it a regional game, for Texas families.

Baylor and Texas are an hour and a half apart; fans, players, coaches and friends, of both campuses can go to the game in either location, and still have Thanksgiving at home. No air travel required.

I'm hoping Mack and Dodds and Powers will join with Baylor administrators and make this a truly Texas tradition. Baylor and Texas can combine to say something about families and about home. The two campuses are different, but the same. One is large and publicly funded; the other is smaller and private. But they have a lot in common especially intangible, and that's what families are: the common and uncommon, but still family.

I say Baylor. And hope that Baylor's programs continue to be more and more competitive. Maybe this year will show that it really is. Have you see RG3's stats? They are absurd!

I like Hu's idea. One additional benefit is that aggy hates Baylor, especially now. Maybe alternate between Baylor and Tech - 2 year home and home and then switch.

Play at home EVERY Tgiving and alternate opponents. Tech and probably Baylor or perhaps OSU. Make it a Texas tradition to play at home on Tgiving night.

Who wants to be in Lubbock over Tgiving? Guessing even the Tech students want to go home for the holiday.

    Tech if not Notre Dame.
I will be extremely disappointed if Dodds ever schedules Aggy on T-day.
Why let them share our platform?

I like the LSU in Houston idea.

Don't know if LSU would go for it considering they play a tough schedule as it is. Also, we're undefeated against Les Miles so he might be against it as well.

Notre Dame plays every other year at USC on Thanksgiving weekend, talking about a national draw!

Florida and FSU play an ooc game that same weekend.

We could still beat up on atm keeping the Lone Star Showdown tradition alive.

I, for one, would miss it.

If ND wont agree to it, then USC, Cal, Ark, LSU, or Mich sounds geat to me. Of course if BYU joins B12 then our dates are pretty much set for a few yrs. I would like to buy out NMex next yr (they are down even by their standards) the week after Wyoming and set up a 2 for 1 series 2012-2014 (last 2 yrs replacing BYU as ooc, since they'll replace anm in conf). We need at least 1 strong ooc game and OleMiss aint looking to strong right now

I think it would be exciting to continue tradition and play Vandaggy with their 3-9 SEC record. Maybe because of the riveting interest in this game we could switch to a neutral site. Giddings or Hutto High ?
