Funny how he had a "big softie with a killer game" rap in college, and now he's being exposed as just a mean dumbass. Typical NU product.
Oh Please. Football is violence. Gladiators with plastic armor and no swords. Michael Huff stomped on an injured guy's belly and nobody from UT ran him down. Not even our coach. The teams that win are dominated by animals (by some of our standards). Nice guys finish last.
+1 and respect to your (soon to be) highly unpopular post, Nick. Shut up. Quit bitching. Football is a violent game regardless of where any of the players went to college.
Oh Nick..didn't you see the great responses to my prior post about our team needing some balls? In summation I was reminded: But, but, but....BUT WE'RE WINE AND CHEESE here @ The 40 Acres...and, the cheap seats are the loudest..and Mack is just sooo CLASSY! About right now, I'd love another Lyle Sendlein, T. Brown, Ramonce Taylor, Studdard, Blalock, Robison, Kindle, Orakpo, Miller, Vasher - keep your wine and cheese, I'll be happy with some hard hitting psycho ballers. Football is a contact sport - it takes a different mindset. Even Vaccaro has lost his edge. More concerned with tats, a certain players sister & how to negotiate his NFL signing bonus. Somewhere along the way after our most recent national title, the teams have gotten soft.
And there always has been and always will be a difference between clean players and dirty players. If you hit well enough between whistles, you have no need to hit after the whistle.
Any fan who wants us recruiting players that taunt injured players while they are injured on the field needs to step back and perhaps reexamine their world view. That is unacceptable on any level and if you are in support of that you have more issues than "sports".
What's wrong with taunting other players when you injure them? Is that considered bad? You do what it takes to demoralize the other team's players and if that means intentionally injuring them to win a college football game then fine. Remember that high school kid that got tossed for sharpening a few parts on his helmet so he could literally slice up the other team? He's the type of overachiever we need more of at Texas. Make sure our guys put a hat directly to the side of the opposing players' knees. That will take them out of the game. C'mon. Do what it takes, right? (Please adjust your ethics or sarcasm meter if any of the above appears appropriate or a serious suggestion.)
Was Suh provoked by chop blocking OL's? Who knows. But taunting an injured QB is beyond low. Ryan wasn't chop blocking him. I did think it was funny when Suh said he didn't need respect from "Rodney" White.
Perhaps his aggressive borderline psychotic behavior is what makes him such a fierce defensive player. Of course there are other examples where a genuinely good person is also a great player. DeMarcus Ware comes to mind.
In the Nfl, it won't be much longer untill tackling is considered dirty play. Just about everything the defense does is illegal now
Suh is a player on the dirty side of aggressive. His record in the NFL is very clear on this issue. __________________________________________________ Doesnt matter. He will go down as one of the greats at his position.
It's real simple. Anyone who has played football knows how it works. The next play, whoever is assigned to Suh (or who is nearby) smashes his empty head into the turf until the whistle blows. THEN see if he runs his mouth when someone is injured.
Suh is the badass of the week in nfl. somebody will chop his knees out from under him and laugh when he is carted off. if you dont respect your opponent at that level, somebody will get you.
I didn't read the article. Didn't need to. It wasn't apparent that Suh did anything physical after the injury or that he intentionaly injured the guy, but you have to have a certain mentality to be a badass and you can't just switch that stuff on and off and if you are offended by words then, on the field, you are a ******* *****. You need to play by the rules of physical contact, but sticks and stones... FWIW, which isn't much, but Huff stomped on the guy while he was laying on his back on the sidelines AFTER the play which is a tad bit more dirty than taunting in my opinion.
The guy dove trying to catch a pass and Huff stepped on his back as he ran by. Huff probably could have jumped over him but it wasn't like he stomped his cleats into him.
Well, it's not like he's dating a certain player's brother. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I have no problem being corrected about whether he was on his back or belly, but I was there and he drove his foot into the guy and I was disgusted. He lifted his leg and then drove it down. Whatever. This isn't about Huff, but the inescapable fact is that physical aggression is encouraged in football and words are just words. When you get into your aggressive "zone" it's hard to just switch it on and off if you are really "Bill in Sinton" focusness and the fact that it was just "words" demonstrates an ability to recognize at least SOME boundaries. It's not like Suh picked up his leg and twisted it after the whistle.
Suh's a great player, but also a thug. These are not the days of Night Train Lane. My prediction is that if he doesn't get his act together soon, Suh will be the next player suspended for his unacceptable behavior on the field. He should have already been suspended.
