WV crushes aggie! Greatest replacement we could ask for! The bar for Football and Basketball just got a lot higher! Good riddance aggie! Welcome about mountaineers!!! Being able to legally drink beer in that stadium is just icing on the cake!!!
On yesterday's news (2/8), A&M now shows two sterling NC games -- with La. Tech and South Carolina State, and still one more to pen in for the Nov. 17 date. Linky. Would imagine Fl. State is not available for the 11/17 date so aggie would have to switch somewhere with the other two NC games. Whatever.
I live three hours from Morgantown!!! Can't wait to see some big 12 football!!! Sorry y'all... but I'm hoping for a Texas away game in Morgantown next year
If Texas plays at Morgantown this year, should be a Sat Nite game on ESPN or ABC. Probably "Game Day" to boot!!!
I will be over joyed to have my HORNS playing WVA only 8 hrs away from me every other year.... Thanks
The reports have WV playing at Texas next year, since they are essentially just replacing Missouri on everyone's schedule. Since TCU is replacing aTm, then Texas will have both newcomers at home next season. That definitely helps the home schedule a bit! Hopefully the "official" schedule will be released later today. Latest reports are that aTm and Missouri exit fees will be about $20M each, so even with the Big XII paying 9M to Big East in this settlement, they are still making over 30M in the swap.
Big XII kicking in 9 mil, have to believe that money is coming from aggy and Mizzou's penalty for leaving.
Welcome to both TCU and WVU I too am looking forward to coming from Denmark to an away game in W. Virginia! It's cheaper to fly to the East coast
Regarding Clemson and FSU: Would the East be Texas Tech Baylor TCU ou OSU West: WVU Clemson FSU Iowa St. KU KSU ??????????
Regarding Clemson and FSU:Would the East be Texas Tech Baylor TCU ou OSU West: WVU Clemson FSU Iowa St. KU KSU Alborg University That's my guess....although Roskilde could make a run.
I think they'll do more of a B1G/ACC style mixer of the divisions if FSU and Clemson were to join. Geography makes sense (although you mixed up East and West in your headers), but that East division won't garner much respect. I'd put the teams into "rivalries," kind of like MLB used to for interleague play, and separate the rivals into different divisions. Then you'd have one interdivisional rivalry game every year, and two more rotating interdivisional games. This is also how the ACC does it (well, until they lose teams maybe). So there would be: OU/OSU KU/KSU FSU/Clem Texas/Tech BU/TCU WVU/ISU And then just try to split them by competitiveness in football/basketball. All other sports would probably work without divisions anyhow.
