.......thought it was pretty good and recommend it to sci fi/horror fans.

    The Link

It was very gory and kinda scary, but also cerebral, inventive and fairly well-acted with decent special effects.

There are spoilers ahead, so stop here if you're interested.

Because this is a movie best experienced, by buffs of this popular genre I'm thinking, unspoiled.

Think of a manufactured sci fi movie reality like the one in "Inception" which is populated by every creature, monster, ghoul, mental patient, slasher and/or maniac that's ever appeared in any horror flick.

They or their ilk are all there.

If Woody Allen had imagined "Midnight in Paris" inhabited by werewolves, assorted creepies, ghosts and zombies all ready to attack Owen Wilson and his irritating film family, instead of the wandering Wilson/Woody character simply discovering representative and recognizable former luminaries from that City of Light (in literature, music, art and dance) on his late night, inebriated rambles, this could have been that.

"The Cabin in the Woods" also deliciously features scares, shocks, stereotypes, sexy stuff and sanguine slashing often leavened with genuine humor.

For me, it was more entertaining and also much more varied and exciting than were the "Scream" or "Scary Movie" series.

I thought this flick was a bloody hoot with an interesting , creative and fun to watch twist.

i liked it a great deal. was not really scared but more intrigued. was very different and creative. def not your typical horror movie of people being chased and just dying in different ways.

I knew it was going to be a little campy after the opening title sequence

I think I heard too many good things about this movie before I saw it. It left me a little non plussed. The surprise cameo appearance at the end was cool.

To parody Ricky Ricardo; "this movie has some 'splaining to do". But, then, it's not supposed to be taken too seriously.
