In light of the Okie State kick off time, I do not remember there being so many night games in quite along time. This leads me to believe that the TX/Blow U game will be a 2:30 kick. Anyone?

Please don't let it be 11 am. That's when you get up to go to the game.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

I think the ou game goes two years at 11 AM and two years at 2:30. I think the last two years were at 11 so if what used to be true happens - it should be 2:30 Oct. 13th... I hope it is as I hate 11AM for that game for the players and the fans.

I love it at 11. That way I get back home at a good hour. You have to show up just as early to get a decent parking spot anyway.

If both teams are highly ranked going into the game, it will be an 11:00 AM kick-off (because it will be a national broadcast). If not, it will be a 2:30 game (meaning a regional broadcast).

Why can't it be a prime time night game?
    What prevents that?
Is there a Texas or ABC law against that?

No body wants 90K fans and way too many drunken idiots in Fair Park at 11pm trying to get out.

    11am or 2:30pm is a public service.

Plus the DFW restaurants want to fill up on Sat night not miss out.

Seriously! I have always longed for a prime time game at the Cotton Bowl with sooner but then I "snap to" when I realize someone would probably die. Of course that is a "slight" exaggeration but the reality is that 1) the blood alcohol level of patrons would be on par Joe Namaths sideline shenanigans w Suzy Kolber and 2) you car wouldn't be there when you left the game. I've always personally thought night games are overrated. Most NFL games are at noon central (3:15 for games out west) and I always liked that time.

Then get rid of the 2:30 'regional' ********.

    SEC-CBS at 3:30 Eastern / 2:30 central, doesn't give a **** about regional.

Make the ABC afternoon game NATIONAL. Shift 11 am games to regional. Then you go mid-afternoon national, followed by a prime-time national, followed by a late-night Western time zone game.

A lot will depend on the records of the two teams 12 days before kick. Since ESPN thinks little bobby walks on water, the result of the Texas/OSU will dictate the ou network and game time. If Texas puts up a convincing performance the network might gamble that Texas will handle WV and put the game in a favorable national/mostly national time period. However if Texas looks like crap against OSU (win or lose) it will be at 11.

When both Texas and OU are undefeated, the game usually starts at 11:00. When one team has a loss, or if both teams have a loss, it is usually 2:30, based on recent years.
