We'll see how they do next year. Johnny turnover may find defenses are ready for him next year and more so the year after. He hit the penicle too soon and has to delivery better results from here on. Aggy will turn on him and Sumlin if they don't deliver. On the other had they may be in a BCS bowl next year and play for an NC after that. It'll been an interesting couple of years.

Meh .. I haven't noticed a giant Love In among Longhorn fans.

The kid had a good freshman year. Let's see him do it again next year.

The kid had a hell of a season as did the aggies. Nothing wrong with recognizing and respecting what the aforementioned did. Matter of fact it's what separates us from Aggy. My love for The Horns and disgust for Aggy hasn't changed one bit.

A lot of "fans" are resentful for him winning the Heisman and having a great year. They are blaming Mack and crew for missing on him even though pretty much every other school did as well. It is getting tiresome to hear some of the over the top comments.

He had a great year and deserved the Heisman. He's fun as hell to watch.

    That being said:
He's losing 2 top 10 OL along with his top 3 WR.

A year of film will do wonders for Defensive Coordinators in the SEC.

for whatever its worth, freshman mike evans was our leading receiver this year. we will miss swope, but i think our WR corps will be just fine.

Manziel was deserving and aggy deserved the #5.
Their fans are ******** who despite having bravely run away will not stop slamming the University of Texas at every turn. When A&M sucked which was always, I didn't **** talk their fans. In fact, I always sorta liked them. Their true colors have come out since their move and 1 year of success.

I think there are admirable aspects to the A&M football program and concerning the abilities of Johnny Manziel -- what he's done on the field pretty much eclipses anything positive or negative posted on Hornfans. Again, when Aggies used terms like "Radio" to describe a masterful UT quarterback it made the Aggie poster, not Vince Young, look stuipid and incredibly jealous. Certainly there are things to dislike about Aggies, but to ignore the energy, passion and resources that school has for football is to deny the obvious.

Maybe going out on a limb here, but I think Johnny Whatever and aggy will do just fine next year. Very, very favorable schedule. They get Bama at collie station this time around, and I predict another W over the Tide for them. I think maybe their only loss prior to the $ec championship game is against l$u. Count on them to be in the NC running for a while (especially if they do beat Bama) and count on Manziel, barring injury, to be a Heisman frontrunner again.

Prop, sure there are fans here that have made disparaging remarks about JM, however there are many more that have given him his due and praised his talent. TXags posters on the other hand have consistently and overwhelmingly used "Radio" and Cart McCry" to describe 2 of the most successful college QBs in history. That is a fact. You have to search long and hard to find any acknowledgement of those players talents and accomplishments. So there is no legitimate comparison.

It looks like Jake Matthews is returning and moving over to LT where Joekel played this year and A&M has some very solid depth on the OL. A&M has recruited OL very well. Still lose Joekel and Lewis but a major dropoff in the OL is unlikely.

Johnny may turn pro after next year or maybe not. Impossible to tell. He is still an undersized QB with an average arm and that will hurt his draft status. Of course no one thought he could translate what he did in HS to college but clearly he has. Most instinctive player I have ever seen, guy just seems to feel where the rush is, where an opening is to run, and where his receivers are. The guy is pure entertainment to watch.

Next year does line up beautifully for A&M. This year we had 12 straight weeks of games without a bye including a stretch of 5 of on the road with only 6 home games in all. We also got Florida from the East. Next year A&M has 8 home games with 2 warmups before Bama (Rice and Sam Houston) to go with 2 bye weeks, including one before LSU. We play Mizzou and Vandy (at Kyle) from the East. We also get LSU after they have already played UF, UGA, and Bama so they may be toast by then. If A&M beats Bama in that Sept game they will almost certainly be #1 and have an easy ride to the SEC CG because they could likely still lose a game and get there.

One of the great ironies I have found is many Texas and OU fans talked about how the Big 12 gives them an easier path to the NC but realistically the SEC is far easier. You can lose a game and still make the NC in the SEC and with the playoff that will be even more pronounced. You may have 2 loss SEC teams in the playoff.

The real key for A&M long term though isn't Manziel, it's the recruiting and facilities improvements. That is going to put the foundation blocks in place for a sustained run. In 2015 Kyle will also be 104k and one of the most impressive stadiums in CFB. Combine all of that with the SEC Network revenue and the A&M of the '00s won't even vaguely resemble the one of the mid '10s.

Texas needs to get it in gear and fast or else they are in danger of taking a significant fall that could be worse than the late '80s/early '90s. There seems to be less buzz around the 40 acres than I have seen since that time period and the sleeping giant at A&M is fully awake.

i've seen more than a few horn fans refer to johnny's run ins with the law in creative/demeaning ways through nicknames too. perhaps the fanbases arent so different?

Maybe I'm a little more attuned to outrageous Aggie mouthing than an Aggie would be. My feelings on the disrespectful posts on TeAgs was that they had almost concensus support, where as the "Johnny Jailbird" poster(s) here get a lot of pushback.

A&M needs to stock up on WR's though. We are losing multiple Sr starters and Thomas Johnson withdrew from school. When you run 4 WR virtually every play and often 5 you need a lot of depth, realistically A&M needs 15 WR's on the roster.

2014 also does not appear as strong of a WR class as '13 is looking to be.

The more interesting number is the LB's. A&M runs a 4-3 so there are only so many slots. My guess is a couple guys get converted to Rush DE or Safety before all is said and done.

A&M's '13 Class is actually very diverse all things considered. Every position is addressed. The only thing really lacking is another impact DE or two but it appears we will get Hall or Prevot (or both) before all is said and done.

The OL or the WRs didn't help Manziel win the Heisman, I don't know why anyone talks about them. Manziel got a majority of his yards, especially on the ground, on broken plays because he was getting swamped by the defense or his receivers were covered.

Mr. Fiesta, I do agree with the majority of your analysis but without the O-line giving him time to be able to scramble and extend plays or open running lanes, the kid wouldn't have as many rushing yards as he did. We all have seen what a weak o-line can do for a QB. Aggies will be good next year but if both their O Tackles leave... things may be a bit different. WR... hell as long as a kid can get open on a busted play and catch the dang ball.. Aggies should be ok.

I for one have 0 Aggie love. They are not my school and not my team so I really don't care how well they do. I won't lose any sleep over that Universities Football success.

Aggy finished #5 this year. First time in top ten since 1956. No BCS ever, no NC rings since 1916 ? Yes they had a very good year, but dear Lord! they have a long way to go to be a TEXAS. And aggy I hate to burst your bubble (not) but the Cotton bowl was not a BCS or NC game.

You are correct that A&M will never catch Texas all time. We had 35 years after WWII as essentially an All Male military school with 1/3rd the scholarships of Texas and Arkie, that makes the all time record unreachable as we were terrible almost the whole time.

We did go to a BCS Bowl in '98 after winning the Big 12 and played in the Sugar. We also owned the SWC for the last decade of its existence for the most part and certainly owned Texas at that time. The last 15 years have been pretty awful for A&M and a major resurgence for Texas, props to you. The trends are pointing the other direction now though and we have put the building blocks in place to make our run a long one. It is essentially a role reversal of when Texas hired Mack and built all their new facilities while A&M was asleep at the wheel. The SEC just makes it more permanent.

For the record A&M claims 3 NC's in '19, 27, and '39. All undefeated seasons. Texas still claims '70 in spite of getting blown out in the Cotton Bowl. I also doubt many Horn fans would honestly say that Texas has a better chance at a NC in the next 5 years than A&M.

seriously, these tools have 1 - ONE - good year and here they come in droves acting like, well, we knew they would. If the SEC is so special what are you dong over here? Go circle jerk yourselves.
You've had 1 good year. You look poised to have 2 with your ****** schedule. The tables haven't turned until you do something meaningful for even 5 or 6 out of 10 years. Just like an aggy to act like world beaters. Successful programs, NFL teams, coaches, players - people who have actually reached the pinnacle of success would tell you that you're a complete douchebag and to have a little humility and maybe even act like a top 5 finish isn't the end all be all.
I absolutely love your claim to 3 NC's. I also love you all hanging 2nd place finishes or whatever the hell you work yourselves up over on your stadium. In 1970 the rules were that the season was over. The bowls didn't count. Why would losing that game count? The team whose tit you all now suck on claims NC's for articles written by elementary school kids who ranked them #1 in some year or another.
I wish someone would filter the board and see how often aggressor was here after 27-25 - just over a year ago. If this was Texags you'd be banned. But I'm glad we allow dipshits like you. I'm glad we're not Texags and I'm glad we're not in the SEC.
So here's my question for you. If it's so rosy over there what are you doing here? If Texas is an afterthought then why are you here? Were you posting after 27-25? I'm not asking for when you signed up. I'm asking if you participated after last Thanksgiving. I suspect you laid low.
Your team sucked in the Big 12. By your own admission and that of many of your other posters you were never going to compete while in the same league as Texas. That says all we need to know.

    Damn, you mad bro?

I enjoy coming here on occasion when there is rational discussion about A&M and Texas. Did I spend a lot of time over here after 27-25? No, not exactly a lot of rational discussion with Aggies going on then. Lots of smack and I don't blame you, you won. Sorry if I am not enough of an internet tough guy to you to come over and spend a ton of time on Hornfans to get every name in the book called at me. I haven't called you names and I have been respectful in talking about Texas.

Why come here? I live in Austin and it's hard not to follow Texas doing so. I also realize that our schools are forever intertwined as the 2 large public universities in the State. Even though we aren't in the same conference nor are we scheduled to play each other we still have a long history and the actions of one school affects the other and always will.

As for the cheating I suppose if you wish to believe that Texas was pure as snow while everyone else in the SWC was cheating and it was just a coincidence that the Head of the Infractions Committee was a UT Law Prof go for it. In the end we beat you 10 out of 11 years in that time and won 6 SWC Titles (7 if you count the undefeated '94 Season we were on probation). Certainly Texas has even more accolades to claim and that's great. It doesn't detract from the fact A&M has a proud history as well.
