I don't know how many people have followed the Michael Morton exoneration of his wife's murder after 25 years in the clink, but its pretty wild of how well this case "somewhat" mirrors Javert and Jean Valjean from Les Miserables. This little interview with Morton is pretty unreal. What a good dude after being dealt the most awful hand. It seems as though Judge Anderson may have withheld potentially exculpatory evidence in the murder trial 25 years ago. Perhaps the most despicable part in all of this is the complete and total lack of contrition on behalf of Anderson. Throughout the entire process for the past 10 years as people worked to get Morton, Anderson did not cooperate and worked with the former DA John Bradley to try and get Morton to sign a waiver of liability for all involved prior to his release. Anderson in my opinion is a despicable human being. He is Javert. Just look at the "tough on crime" slob: Morton has repeatedly stated he wants no vengeance and he even asked the judge to deal gently with Judge Anderson. He has the ability to show grace to a giant piece of crap who stole 25 years of his life. Wow.
This sort of thing is going to happen unless there are very severe sanctions imposed. If you're found to have intentionally withheld exculpatory evidence, you should be disbarred, and you should go to prison. When I hear about corrupt officials getting lax punishments, it nauseates me. Two wrongs happened here. Anderson's chickenshit conduct improperly imprisoned a man for 25 friggin' years, but there's another side of the coin. The Williamson County DA didn't try to find and didn't prosecute the real killer (at least not to my knowledge). Somebody got away with murder. Disgusting.
^^^^^ What Mr. Deez said. Criminal behavior on the part of the prosecutor. Throw them in with the general population in prison. Methinks they would not like it.
