A drop from 3 years ago...after UT was coming off a NC appearance. Why is a drop from an all-time high surprising?
What year was the stadium expansion completed? 1998 … 38,100 1999 … 48,400 2000 … 53,600 2001 … 54,100 2002 … 62,500 2003 … 66,600 2004 … 66,400 2005 … 66,400 2006 … 74,400 (an increase of 8,000) 2007 … 69,700 (a drop of 4,700) 2008 … 83,000 (an increase of 13,300) 2009 … 83,900 2010 … 84,500 (all-time high) 2011 … 81,600 (a drop of 2,900) 2012 … 78,800 (a drop of 2,800) x-2013 … 76,300 (a drop of 2,500) x-sales are ongoing
Real simple boys, Now that the games are on LHN, no one needs to shell out the pesos. Just kick back and enjoy at home.
People are tired of paying for a product that is inferior relative to its supposed value. Sorry, but it's really that simple.
It's pretty simple.....5-7 and 7-5 happened. People don't want to spend their hard earned money on an inferior product.
Texas Taps, I am with you when you say. "tigerpride, wtf do you care?" I will buy my four season tickets every year if we are 5-7 or 12-0. Sure I get disappointed in bad years. I love the thrilling times the good years bring as well.
I bought season tickets during the late '80's and all the '90's and have vivid memories of the LHB sending a little PEP BAND all over the stadium to keep people awake during games....we sucked...really sucked...but all of it I would do over since having these tickets eventually got me into the ROSE BOWL to watch Vince run it in..... IF this coming year goes tits up and Mack doesn't pull out his sword and fall on it.....watch the exodus, then.....
Seattle, I was in some of those pep bands in the late 80s/early 90s, so I got to witness much of the misery you described. One of my favorite times was during the Baylor abortion (50-7, I believe) when we went up to play in the quick-emptying west side upper deck late in the 3rd quarter. The biggest rush was my fear of tumbling face first while navigating the steep stairs and carrying my snare drum. Fond memories.
