brent is a big time homer, but his access has been cut off to the program and since about last october or so he's had a chip on his shoulder about A&M.

either way, i agree with some things in the article and i'm not so worried about others.

You can't control Cash Out Kings!
But seriously, Sumlin has a ways to go to keep up with Mizzou. Who knows if you can or not.

The strange thing about all of this is that A&M would have probably won their old conference for the last two seasons (2012 for sure), with possible national championship game berths, and would had earned more of a bargaining chip for nationwide college football supremacy than they have now.

The question is whether remaining in the Big 12 would have given them the jolt of energy that got them to the upper tier in 2012, with the Manziel Heisman and Cotton Bowl blowout. Quite a conundrum.

Incredible recruiting class aside, it'll be interesting to see where A&M heads in 2014. I think their stock will basically remain where it was in 2013... they'll finish in the upper-middle echelon of teams in the SEC and lose some close games to good squads. They'll continue to pull good recruits, but I don't think Sumlin alone is enough to get them to be a consistent top ten threat. They'll need to prove it by beating some excellent teams without Johnny Football. I think they can do it, but whether they will is very much a question.

i was busy during the latest aggy arrests so I just read they were parked in a HANIDCAP spot?
    really?

The Mj charge while stupid is not unusual But come on man IF you are stupid enough to smoke in public how much more stupid do you have to be to park in a handicap spot.

It's ridiculous how Longhorn fans get a little giddy when A&M players get arrested and Aggie fans get giddy when Longhorn players get arrested.

Pretty sad actually but it's always the case even though neither program will ever be immune to them.

I guess that's just the way things are between rivals/former rivals/never-were-rivals.

So true. Thought much the same today. We have had numbnuts in our past do this and same with Ag's, Sooners and name a host of others.

I don't get giddy when young men make stupid decisions that can cost them greatly in life at a time when they pretty much have it all. Whether they wear Maroon, Burnt Orange or even Crimson, stupid.

Too bad there's not a good way to teach kids, who have always been treated as football gods, how easily it all goes away by making mistakes. They think they are invincible no matter how many before them have had it all taken away in a flash. "It won't happen to me"

Funny, a lot of the "he hasn't won a conference title" talk was aimed at Mack just 10 years ago by our detractors.....Now we're talking the same nonsense....I guess we didn't learn.

If Mack's success here taught us anything it's don't dwell on he past. In order to win big, you have to recruit big. At some point in time things will click with any luck at all....That's what the ags are staring at with anticipation.

Us? We're staring at bigger problems, one of which is recruiting. We need to turn that tide.

More SwagMatism! There is a thread specifically addressing the Kenny Hill PI arrest, but I wanted to bump this thread placing it in the context of the red flags raised by aggy homer Zwerneman in my original post.

Golden has since withdrawn from school and entered rehab. He lost an infant child a few months ago and it seems that it has taken a toll on him.

As for Kenny Hill, it was a stupid decision but he hurt no one but himself. This will end up just being a ticketed offense and he'll move on. It's not like he drove into an apartment building or got into a fight and gave the officers fake ids.

The kid that was kicked off was, well, kicked off the team. So it's not like the program is turning a blind eye. Kids do stupid things.

Funny, how all teams have players do dumb **** to some degree. But whenever another team has attrition or suspensions, its the beginning of the end for them.
(Unless they don't do anything about it, then they're thuggy and dirty)

When it's us, its running a tight ship, and being tough. Cleaning house.

Not just true of Horn Fans, just fans in general.

Finger pointing is ridiculous unless there is a clear group behavior pattern that is being allowed by a lack of institutional control and cover up.
I do not believe 85 individual young men between the ages of 18-23 from different parental/moral value backgrounds and different social crowds at home & college are all only going to make good decisions, regardless of the institutional control.
Male kids between the ages of 18-23 are usually not at the top of the scale when it comes to decision making...any decision making.

Maybe it is just funnier when it happens to aggy due to their incredibly pompous, overbearing opinion of themselves "An Aggy doesn't steal, cheat..."ad nauseum.
So when aggy DOES cheat, steal etc.. how they err always seems to be funny.

Like when the aggy QB gets drunk and decides to take a nap in public, in a flower garden, and decides to take his shoes off before lying down. He is simply added to the list of aggy comedy.

Aggy may have won their old conference in 2012, not 2013. 2013 woulda likely gone to Mizzou. I wouldn't just blindly assume Aggy woulda won in 2012 though. #5 11-1 Kansas St. was pretty stout entering the Fiesta Bowl.

The Big 12 was much tougher in 2012 than it was last year. This year it will be back on the scene. 2013 was just a very down year with all the starting QB turnover, and many skills starters across the league moving on. 2014 will be a different story as most of the better teams found talented replacements and got them experience last year.
