No doubt OU was impressed with his football skills. Also, off the field, DG-B has shown qualities of a risk-taking entrepreneur.

I'm all for second chances, but third, fourth and fifth chances? Not so much.

What would be funny is if he sits out a year at OU and then enters the draft. I believe he will be eligible for the NFL next year. Besides, what are the odds he makes it an entire year without screwing up again?

Worster: He had some marijuana problems. Got arrested as a frosh for small time possession. Last time he was caught, i think there as about a pound of marijuna in the car. which cops suspect was dealer quantity. He was thrown off the Missouri Tigers.
I guess while he will count against 2014 scholarships, I don't think he eligible to play until 2015. I doubt he stays in college if he's NFL ready after that campaign.

He was actually suspended and then subsequently dismissed from the team for allegedly throwing a girl down some stairs after breaking into his girlfriend's apartment at 2:30 in the morning. According to police, both women were reluctant to press charges out of fear of retaliation.

That happened after the two previous drug arrests.

Until the added part of the stairs, violence and such he was a run of the mill standard OU guy. But that added gumption in him makes him somebody Stoops would like and go after for a transfer. He has Stoops and OU all over him. But hey, he's no Lyn McGruder...wait, he's somehow worse.

How a human can be proud of a program like OU escapes me. There are problems at any school but as rampant as theirs over time? Wow.

This is one story that already makes me proud to have a coach of integrity like Charlie Strong. I can almost guarantee after reading his history Strong would scoff at the opportunity to bring this kid on.

Fall 2015 is a long time from now. Plenty of free time for this type of guy to cross the line again before he ever plays. Guys like this don't change with age or 3rd/4th/5th chances, it's not a maturity thing with them. I've always believed in the fact that winning with a proven POS leading the way isn't really winning at all. It's selling out for tainted glory. No thanks.

Wow, what a rap sheet! This kid is a time-bomb waiting to go off again... just a matter of when.

ou has had a long-time tradition and culture of taking student - athletes that are uhh, low-lifes and troublemakers. I still find myself asking why would Stoops lower himself and the program to take another chance on this guy... I always end up answering my own question: (and it has been the answer at ou) - good character, ethics, honesty, etc. cannot get in the way of winning, ever!

Awesome news. I don't have a problem with this at all and will be looking forward to Trevor launching multiple TDs to DGB in the near future.

He's a good player. Charlie would take him in a heartbeat and give him a chance if he could. Just like he did when he gave Michael Dyer his third (fourth?) chance at Louisville and promised Dyer would be closely monitored under a "zero tolerance" behavioral contract after Dyer left Auburn, Arkansas State, and Arkansas Baptist College in two and a half years because of character issues, legal problems, and multiple suspensions.

If you think Strong is in the market of bringing on guys with a history of physically harming women you have no clue what you're talking about. This has already been sternly discussed with the team when he got here that he has a zero tolerance policy on physical confrontation with women.

Unlike Bobby, some coaches still believe in those types of morals. And they also understand that once you cross that line it means that's your true nature as a person. Either you hit women or you don't. He wasn't fighting the girl off or anything as she attacked him...although there are still other ways to resolve that situation than striking back. Not quite the same as smoking weed or other victimless offenses that might warrant another chance with help. People do grow and get past victimless crimes often.

Charlie Strong will say he's an honest man of integrity. You all will buy it because that's what Texas fans are about. Charlie Strong will lose. A lot. Texas will fire Charlie Strong. In the end, no one will care.

Seriously? In Oct,. 2013 you thought there was no way, no way the mighty sooners would lose to Mack and lowly UT .... and we handed your *** to you with Case McCoy at QB.

Did you think out that post before or after you typed it? Do you know who or what the f**k you are talking? No, you don't -you will eat those words... Mr. sooner magic.

I don't need to downplay it. It was an objectively insignificant lost. Every season that OU keeps competing for the Big 12 title, and UT does not, diminishes the importance of the RRS game. The fact that you cannot counter that argument outside of taunting me ("oh mah god, you are on a UT board, that must mean the RRS really devastated the Sooners!") is determinative. The reality that Texas no longer seriously affects Oklahoma's success is a bitter pill. But you better get used to hard truths now that Mack's no longer around, folks.

Texas is now to Oklahoma what those mediocre Missouri, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and A&M teams used to be to Texas in the last decade: an annoying bug that occasionally makes a bite but otherwise doesn't scare anyone.

    Have fun and good luck.

I Live in OK, you wrote that Coach Strong would take him if he could. Fortunately, UT would not allow him to take him. That's the difference between OU and UT.

    ILIO:

So UT has a down period for about 4 years at the end of Mack's run. UT is down and has sullied up the RRS for ou. Your not optimistic we will ever be able to recover from this fall from grace in the rivalry or the Big XII.

Hmm, I seem to recall a down period at ou not too terribly long along... a HC revolving door at ou for a period. The mailaise began during Gary Gibbs tenure at HC, then there was the mighty Howard Schnellenberger who went 5-5-1 and was dismissed after 1 year. Then came John Blake - had a losing record and was dismissed after about 3-4 years.

I don't think this period kept ou from regaining their coaching balance and coming back strong with the right coach. Same holds for UT - we will recover. Perhaps Strong is the right HC, maybe we go through some wilderness like ou did - but I doubt it. Hell, Strong has not coached one game at UT yet, much less one RRS and you have already covered the grave.

"In the end, nobody gives a ****. That's not saying you're wrong and I'm right, but that's the way it is."

    Correction: Sooners don't give a ****.
