Horns shut-out 3 times since 1976.... 1976: 0-30 vs UH (last shut-out at home) 1980: 0-16 vs Baylor (in Waco) 2004: 0-12 vs OU
It's not good when the other team succeeds running a zone read where the QB could have kept it OR handed it off and the play would have worked either way. Now their 3rd string RB is gashing us.
since he cannot hang a hundred, I guess Briles decided to add whatever salt could be added to the wound...
We keep saying quarterbacks are winning games in college, and in pros. I think it's coaching that is getting it done. Game-day, and preparation.
Good thing we punted on our last possession down 3 scores with 9 minutes left, so Baylor had further to go for a score....
I'd pick on our safeties too. You don't need to be a genius innovator to be able to do that. I'm just pissed at the total and utter failure of our offense to sustain anything. Even a mediocre drive. It doesn't matter how good the defense plays if we're stuck with this steaming pile of ****.
Our offense is incapable of scoring any points in this game. Do we have enough offense for win No. 3 this season?
We have the worst offense in the country. I can't even imagine how bad next year is going to suck when we lose all our skilled players.
Yea...we scored. Now, Charlie can blame the defense for not doing their job. Watson is secured for another week of work.
That fumble on the goal line before the half just killed us. Teams with confidence say we drove down on them and made a stupid mistake. Non-confident ones do what we did and pouted and wondered why they can't get out of their own way.
We lose Shipley, Harris and Brown, not exactly all of our skilled players. And all rotate with lower classmen. The O should be better next year, not worse.
Briles trying to pimp Baylor's schedule because they played a couple of their rent-a-win games on the road. LMAO.
Maybe suffering the almost-nearly-not-quite-hardly in the UCLA game, and now this miss at the close of the first half... May make you mad enough and smart enough to rise up like a Phoenix. We shall see. I'm disappointed. The players play well enough. But the team and coaches as a whole don't get it that you HAVE to stay focused at critical moments. Tennis champions do. Games are won and lost at critical moments. That's what it comes down to. How to you coach, or prepare, or execute that?
Yes, the offense is bad. But I am not convinced that it is the scheme. The oline is bad, the receivers do not go get the ball, the QB does not deliver the ball in the right place very often. I am not convinced that anyone could take these same players and get a better result.
