Happy for Americans

It is also an issue with women in the 30-50 year old bracket. My facebook feed is still melting down, in a major way, 4 days out now.
At first, they were weeping for Hillary, then it was "what am I going to tell my CHILD???". Keep in mind, many of these children are 8-9 years old. Perhaps it is different these days, and kids really are invested in the election process to the point that they would be a sobbing mess due to a Hillary defeat. (I heard stories of many crying young'uns) I think I was a pretty smart kid, but I was much more involved in listening to the Monkees and playing outside than nervously following an election at 9 years old.

I could post some of their rants in here--y'all truly wouldn't believe the depth of the political vapors these women are having. One has outlined, step by step how we will descend in to Nazi America. #it'salreadybegun.
Today, the posts are all about buying and wearing giant safety pins...just so you are informed, if you see someone wearing one, you can be certain you are in a welcoming and safe space. (unless you didn't vote for Hillary)

I am empathetic to many concerns. I don't like to hear true stories of bullying of children at school--by either side--or people who are gay, or have parents who came here illegally. I can understand that their world has been absolutely rocked, and I do think and hope we can find compassionate solutions for the more social aspects of a Trump presidency, but these women have gone batsh*t.crazy. Over the top.

I think Obama should be coming out much stronger to denounce the protests, and in my dreams, he, Trump and maybe Bill Clinton could make a PSA together asking for people to stop this lunacy. It's embarrassing.

 

I just googled that to figure out what the heck. Sure enough, these Hillary voters will be wearing safety pins to signal random people threatened by Trump that they are with a "safe" person.

That's the opposite of empathy (how to avoid divisiveness and echo chambers) - that's doubling down on more passive aggressive! Haha. Do people allegedly threatened by a Trump victory really feel safer because of a safety pin? Of course not. It's self-involved egomaniacal patronizing moral signaling.

Well, safety pins sound safer than...you know...violent riots and group attacks on Trump supporters. So, go for it I say!

It's like the Seinfeld episode where George can't figure out why he's a loser. Then out of desperation he starts doing the exact opposite of his instincts, he gets hired by the New York Yankees in the general manager's office and despite being bald, unemployed, and still living with his parents, scores with a beautiful woman. Definitely one of the greatest Seinfeld episodes of all-time.

Liberals, you do not control any branch of government, Obama's legacy will be erased, your historic first woman Presidential nominee might be going to jail, the stock market you said would collapse is at an all time high, you were completely blindsided by one of the most historic political movements in our life time - maybe you might want to consider pulling a Constanza? Like if wearing a safety pin to signal you are a "safe" person is your first instinct, like...ummm...maybe you should do the op...no, following those instincts.

 

The irony is thickest on this one point.

I argued throughout this election (still do) that the single most important issue is the effect on the make-up of the SCOTUS. The root idea here is the preservation of the Constitution. Hillary Justices would have shredded the Constitution. Thanks to Wikileaks, we already know she had plans to whack the 1st and 2nd Amendments, and to expand the 14th beyond reason. Further, Obama already had a huge effect on the DC Circuit (who hears appeals from federal agencies). Allowing Hillary to further pack this key Appellate Court would have effectively allowed her to circumvent the Congress and Separation of Powers. And the list goes on.

Here's the deal -- if this nation really is on the verge of sliding into National Socialism (or whatever) then it is the Constitution that will save us from these kooks. This is why it must remain the law of the land and the force it was always intended to be. Yet she was voting for the candidate who would weaken the Constitution not strengthen it. Trump Justices will keep it strong. Hillary Justices will bend it to suit their will. These people makes no sense.

Some on my side have been calling liberalism a 'mental disorder' for years. I always thought this just a rhetorical device. But I am starting to reconsider that now.

 

I'm old enough to remember when safety pins were used to fasten diapers on babies. Seems appropriate.

 

Two quick, easy things liberal elites could do right away to make amends for their failure:

(1) Cancel "The Daily Show" and
(2) shut down "Hamilton"

 

Alexander Hamilton, the man, was a great solider, a visionary who believed in a strong US military and economy, an abolitionist, and is a great example of meritocracy through intelligence, work ethic, risk taking, patriotism, and courage.

Too bad the identity politics folks have hijacked his legacy. Chernow's book, though, is an excellent read.

My two other favorite Founding Fathers are the Marquis De Lafayette - a French aristocrat who basically reminded everyone what America is truly about, and John Paul Jones - admittedly, a little bit of a rogue...the Han Solo of the American Revolution. He's an example of what our military should be - a relentless force our enemies fear and respect.

 

Hamilton was also a champion the Electoral College.
But this did not make the musical.
