TCU is a well coached team. Why is it that TCU, KSU and ISU always get coaches that overachieve with the talent they have and we do just the opposite? Can you imagine what we could do with the coaches they get and the talent we could recruit?

I'm trying to think of coaches we've had in any sport that really overachieved with the talent they had and the list is very short. I can only think of DKR, Jody C during her best years, Rick Barnes early on, Augie G during his best years, the swimming coaches, maybe Bev K and that's about it. I know some people will say Jerritt E, but I don't think so given the talent he's recruited.

I think the jury is still out on Shaka. We'll know in a couple of years. He did overachieve in his previous job. He may well do that here. But here, unlike VCU, he is competing week in week out against B12 coaches who are mostly very good. Hard to over achieve when you are constantly competing against some of the top coaches around.

His havoc style may not be as successful against well coached, highly disciplined teams. Tcu's Dixon is a great example. Tcu will be very tough as long as Dixon is there. By the way, he is a tcu alum, played there, so he is not likely to be lured away.

This. Too early to give a definitive answer either way.
