Let's do this, 'Horns!!

 

Horns drop series opener 6-2 as their road woes continue. Really need a bounce back tonight as they fall to 6-7 in conference.

 

Lost a 3 run late. Lose 4-3. Kick in the groin game.

 

Extraordinarily frustrating game as Horns cant hold lead and Baylor walks it off in the ninth. Texas looks to salvage at least one game in Waco today. This team is two different personalities, one at home and one on the road.

 

Horns surrender tying run in the bottom of then ninth and for all the world another kick in the groin looks to be in store, but they score two in the top of the tenth and hold on in the bottom of the inning to win the final game in Waco 5-3. Lost chances in Waco, particularly last night may end up really hurting this team but for now they sit at 24-15, 7-8 in conference. Huge series still on horizon with TCU, Okie State and WVU.

 

Last night, they had a man on 3rd with 1 out in top 9th after giving up 3 in bottom 8th. So, they had a chance last night despite blowing a lead. Good to hear they followed through tonight.

 

Saturday night's game was a great illustration of the top 2 problems that keep this team from being great - a bullpen you can't count on and lack of hitting with RISP. Sunday's game looked to be a repeat performance if not for Kacy Clemens' heroics. I am still very confident that Coach Pierce will get those problems fixed, but probably not this year.

 

Oh and I might ad, given the title of this thread, the picture quality from the Baylor feed was crap.

 

I got pissed and turned the game off when that schmuck sucker punched that ball into right field tying the game. I assumed we'd lose yet another one run game.

Happy they salvaged one!
