Great series for Houston but I can't believe Alex Rodriguez is on the air. He is a cheater and a liar. This is the problem; the glorification of the wrong people.
Weather could actually favor Houston even though the summer games are played with roof closed. If temps remain in the upper 90's in LA, that is something the Astros are USED TO as a matter of daily routine. It is NOT common in Los Angeles. And, I am sure the 'stros would rather have mid-90s for the games out there than the mid 50's they had in New York...
The bad blood between the Astros and Dodgers goes back to 1980 when Tommy Lasorda said we were only renting 1st place. It's been all hate ever since.
Best part of that 1980 season was the tie-breaker... https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN198010060.shtml Dodgers fans were so classless they were almost the cause of the game being called early due to throwing batteries and crap on the field
I miss that brand of baseball. Two sacrifice bunts, 5 stolen base attempts with 4 successes .... that was fun to watch.
Astros HAD to play that brand of ball...they had no consistent HR hitters...I think that was the year Puhl led the team with a whopping 13 for the season. One of those seasons in that window of time, the league leader hit almost as many as Houston did as a team. But they excelled at small ball...a single and several clouds of dust.
Maybin getting that hit and stealing a base and catching a tricky line drive--that was a nice contribution.
what a freakin ballgame............this ranks right up there with Pudge Fisk in 75' game 6............HOW BOUT THEM 'STROS!
I will be honest - I did not watch it after the 8th inning. It is just too stressful for me. I know I missed a great comeback and all, but that roller-coaster ride would have put me in the hospital.
The dude in the orange shirt in the tweet above, in the sea of sad faces and Dodger blue, caught the Altuve homer
If you have the audio on for that clip, you can hear the Astros bullpen coach Craig Bjornson telling him -- "You're going to jail now."
