Howard at Maryland @ 5 PM on the BTN
I mainly want to see if Maryland is as bad as UConn made them look.

UConn at UCLA @ 9:30 PM on ESPNU
The Bruins should make this interesting. UConn will be somewhat depleted as Katie Lou Samuelson will miss this game due to an ankle injury suffered in the game versus California. Of course, they did beat Maryland without Katie Lou.

And LSU will be playing Nichols at 7PM on the SECN+.

I'm very interested in the UConn UCLA game. I wonder if the time difference will be a factor for UConn? It won't be a total surprise if UCLA wins this game or at least keeps it close.

Not according to the UConn fans. They are expecting a blowout win by at least 20 points, most of them anyway.

just finished watching a replay of UCLA and Baylor. Don't know if she will continue to do this, but Brown often seemed to try to dribble a bit once she got the ball inside. It was fairly easy for UCLA to force her to give up the ball. On D, UCLA pulled her out away from the basket, usually by not a lot, but it was enough to allow UCLA to drive to the basket from the opposite side. They were able to box Brown out often on rebounds as well.

I think having Lauren Cox back will eliminate a lot of those problems for Baylor, other than Brown dribbling close to the basket. As close to the basket as she usually is when she gets the ball, she just needs to power step to the rim and finish, forget about putting the ball on the floor.

Maryland vs Howard is a rout. Maryland up 78-29 halfway through the third.

Hope UConn at UCLA is a better game.

geez, UCLA is not running, they are playing a half court game. That's not their game. No wonder UConn is up 21-11 at the end of one. Have to tip the hat to UConn. They can run or play halfcourt equally effectively. Love the way they box out on defensive rebounds. Looks like a solid way of blue between UCLA and the ball.

much better offensively for UCLA but UConn is very opportunistic. Megan hit three treys in a row off broken plays in the second quarter. UCLA defense is leaving UConn players open and they continue to drain threes. That run by UConn in the first to open up a ten point edge is going to be big. It's 40-29 at the half.

UCLA is being dominated. UConn's defense is very tough. UCLA shooting is ultra cold. No team can rely solely on a running game. Neither can we. Our games so far have not allowed us to work much on our half court sets, which concerns me. Napheesa Collier is a great player. I remember thinking so back in her McDonald's AA game. So far, UCLA just doesn't look to have the manpower. But we'll see. Maybe they will get it together in the second half. It's awhile till we play UConn, but we'll have to rebound better than UCLA is so far.

UCLA just fell apart in the third quarter. Poor defense, too much one on one on offense. Not making UConn work at all. 62-38 at the end of three. UConn was conducting a layup drill this quarter.

1st thing to me that stood out.J.Canada is not the No.1 Point Guard in the Nation. It is B.McCarty from Texas.Canada did not have any type of control of the game for UCLA. And shoot the ball too much for me.I feel Texas will give UConn a better game.

78-60 UConn. Much better quarter for UCLA. They played the way I had expected them to do so from the start. Not enough, though. Their press in the fourth did bother UConn, causing some TOs. Kudos to UConn for another win, especially without their best 3pt shooter. Katie Lou does do a lot more than that.

Canada did not play like the best PG in the nation in this game. Like the rest of her team, she did not play her game. You do have to consider UConn's Kia Nurse among the best PGs as well as Brooke. That should be an outstanding game although it may be Dangerfield at the point for UConn while Nurse is the SG.

I’ve read and heard that Stevens might be UCONN’s best player. Maybe she had an off night but I didn’t see it. She had a couple of moments but, at best, I’d put her 4th behind Collier, Williams and Samuelson.

It did sting a bit watching Megan Walker, especially after what I’ve heard since her commitment from someone tied into recruiting circles that Megan preferred Texas but her parents wanted UCONN.

Geno still playing 4 of his 5 starters up by 20+ with 3 minutes to go in the game is classic. Do they have to be up by 50 with a minute to go for some of the players further down the bench to see the floor?

They are good, aren't they? I was really impressed with Kia Nurse, though. I would put her among their top players.

But I don't think our team will be flustered before they step on the court just because they are playing UConn. I think that made a lot of difference in the game as I didn't see the UCLA team that played BU until the fourth quarter. Or maybe I am not giving UConn enough credit for their defense.

UConn is starting to depress me. I love the way they play, of course, but I've started rooting for anybody-- even teams I hate--to beat them. Just to break the spell. They are superb athletes superbly coached. Their players are uniformly pleasant and intelligent in interviews; and I usually find Geno rather charming. But the beat-downs have to stop, for the sake of the game. It may not be bad for women's basketball, according to lots of pundits; but it's bad for me. Shaefer at Miss. St. looms in my mind like a God. He's the one coach who managed to break through in FIVE YEARS! I'm not even going to speculate on U.T.'s chances. Let's concentrate on proving we can beat LSU, Washington, Oklahoma, Tenneessee, Florida State, etc, before we start comparing ourselves to the Huskies.

60% of UCLA's offense consisted of Jordan Canada dribbling around frantically looking for an opening. Their offensive scheme looked primative compared to UConn's balletic flow. On defense the Huskies packed it in pretty tight most of the time, sagged off, and let the Bruins miss outside jump shots. UConn is going to score on you. I don't care who you are. You've got to keep up.
