Congrats to Charli and Sedona! http://www.espn.com/espnw/sports/ar...mates-vs-teammates?addata=espnw:womenbb:index They put Sedona on the East team and Charli on the West.
I never realized how big the McDonald's list of candidates until recently. It's HUGE. But, you also see oddities like the entire state of West Virginia having 2 high school kids and North Carolina having 3 kids that are even considered as candidates. This is a PDF download: https://www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com/aag/en/2018-nominees-list.html
I don't like to prognosticate, but our time is coming.....if we can be good, or even serviceable on the perimeter we have some GLORY days ahead. I hope everyone understands just how much Sedona and Charli will be able to dominate at this level getting a lot of 1:1 looks and being able to stretch the floor with very good jumpers.
Looking at the McDonald's AA roster, basketball players are getting taller and taller. Of the 24 players selected, 16 are 6 feet or taller. Sedona the tallest at 6'7", and two listed as 6'5", Charli being one of them. A lot of 6'2" to 6'4"s. The shortest player selected is 5'8". There are 5 listed as 5'10". Brooke is kind of a miracle. I don't know much about the individual players selected, but I imagine Moooooo does. All four of Baylor's were selected, which is no surprise. Tennessee had three, and both of UConn's also made the list, of course.
I'm willing to bet that JoAnne Allen Taylor should have been named to the team, and that she turns out to be a very good player at the next level. If I'm not mistaken Notre Dame offered her along with almost every other Top 10 program... and we KNOW the type of dynamic guards Muffet McGraw recruits.
Joanne had offers from Mississippi State and South Carolina as well. I agree with you, she will make an impact!
Happened to notice on twitter that Celeste Taylor offered Charli congrats on her McD selection. Nice to see the recruits developing relationships before stepping foot on campus.
Charli and Sedona will also play in the Jordan Brand game in Brooklyn: Sunday, April 8, at 2:30 PM CT. Different teams again dangit. https://jordanbrandclassic.com/team/2018-girls-national-team/
Even better if Celeste can make it from Long Island to Brooklyn to touch base with her future teammates.
Okay, I am going to put this here and in the 2018 recruiting thread: congrats to Sedona and Charlie. https://www.hookem.com/2018/03/08/t...ce-charli-collier-national-player-year-award/
