I was thinking about that, but in regards to incoming recruits. I've been seeing UT Softball twitter re-tweeting the star pitcher coming from CA next year (she's TALL!). I was thinking - I hope she still comes to a team, in another state, with an unknown staff. And then I was thinking about a catcher that I think Connie signed in the late signing period out of the DFW area. It was so....quiet that I didn't know if it was really a walk-on "signing" (I have a friend whose daughter plays D3 volleyball, but actually "signed" on signing day at her school for symbolic and fun purposes).
I know of one unhappy parent of a current player who is probably happy for the change - and thus would stay. The others? Shrug. Who knew that Jade Gortarez was so unhappy to transfer to ASU to a second year coach? (apparently the right call as ASU is in the WCWS)
I know that part of what I wrote CDC was that Texas had a tendency to smother the bright first or second year of a player's development. Remember how well Randel hit her freshman year? The last few games in uniform this year was how hard and confident she hit her freshman year. And all the mutterings of why Ellsworth was not hitting with as much success her sophmore year as compared to her freshman year.
Maybe a new staff will help develop and improve the players, instead.
