Now that the hitting is finally starting to come alive, the Astros are a handful for anybody.

    MLB runs/game leaders:

    1) Astros - 5.177
    2) Yankees - 5.173
    3) Redsox - 5.113

So the Astros officially have the top scoring offense in baseball again.
And still lead all of MLB in ERA as well.

Uncharacteristic Saturday game with 2 hits against KC

Why do we not hit as well at home?

Weird, no? Then Sunday's game had an 8-run inning (including a granny) and the bats were on fire. Maybe Saturday’s KC pitching was just that good, idk.

Sometimes, once the good ones get touched up, they will never get it back. Examples abound, although the two that really stick in my mind from years gone by are the Philly (Mitch Williams) that got lit up in the World Series to lose it and also the Astros own Brad Lidge who was never really wholly effective again for Houston after being torched in by Albert Pujols in '05.

There are others who had such a case of the yips that they had to find another position to play...Knoblauch comes to mind.

    Clearly seems mental/emotional with KG
I think everyone can see it in his eyes, facial gestures, attitude
The weirdest thing is that he can get to 98-100mph so easily
His fastball must be flat and easy to pick up

The Astros have a +191 run differential through 98 games. The closest team is Boston with +160. Then it drops to the Yankees at +134. Pretty impressive.

Would be even more impressive if the bullpen had not blown 4- and 5-run leads...

With 61 games left, if everyone stays healthy, each should get at least 10 more starts (assuming some rest for starting 5 with a big divisional lead). Who do you like to reach 20 wins?
