The lockdowns were always flawed for this very reason. They only delayed the inevitable unless extended until a vaccine was deployed. I notice how the media has pretty much dropped the lockdown narrative at this point.

If you believe total lockdown till vaccination is the only answer, then everything else is a half-measure. Once you eliminate total lockdown as an option, the only measurable and attainable goal was to prevent overloading the hospitals. After that, it’s a slippery slope to herd immunity. Folks are mentally lazy and stupid. Covid was a real measuring stick to identify the mental midgets.

Boy that's the truth. The way girls dress today make short shorts look like formal wear.

Where I live, all stores are required by fiat to do so and remain open. Although I personally think it does little to no good, I respect their need to stay open. Not surprised by the article.

Same here. My hugest beef with this scamdemic is the small business suffering. So, am I going to go in a store of my own volition and then refuse to follow the store's policy and risk their being shut down? No. Only reason I wear the mask. I agree with you, I think they are useless

Most people still acting like this thing is still going. Time open businesses and take off the masks.

The silver lining is that the Corona pandemic exposed all those people that have "Science Is Real" signs in their yard to be illiterate scientifically. In internet lingo, they p3wned themselves are continue to embarrass themselves.

Typical media story that chooses to obfuscate the question that was asked...the question posed did not ask if they were WILLINGLY wearing a mask.

    https://www.pewresearch.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/mask-wearing-topline.pdf

The increase corresponds to the mandates that were put into place that forced them upon people. Few really want to create a scene so they comply, even when they know how utterly useless the control charade actually is...

If there was real journalistic integrity, there would have been a recognition of that having been the primary change in the two cycles from which they gleaned data to the ONE primary question.

Around here, I see a lot more like me where it is looped over the ear and if the clerk is not wearing the mask, it just stays looped and dangling. Hell, even HPD does not wear a mask in the stores...

We learned in the story about Pelosi last night that we can all vote in person and businesses need to open immediately. After all, if Nancy can get her hair done and do so while quarantines and lockdowns are in place AND do so without a mask, then so can everyone else...

mb227, before the mandates I noticed more people were starting to wear masks at the grocery store. It had started out about 50/50 at the beginning. Then right before the mandates it was more like 90/10, wearing mask.

I hate the masks and the unconstitutional mandates behind them, but I'm not gonna make some minimum wage grocery clerk bother with my objections when they are just trying to do their job, so, yeah, I wear the damn thing in the store.

I've been here this a lot here. I'm not sure how they are unconstitutional?

The Constitution doesn't have a problem with mask mandates

Puff pieces like that tend to overlook State constitutional protections, to say nothing of the lack of due process that tended to attach to the mandates. A governor cannot simply proscribe an offense...

The due process issue is one of the reasons why local governments could not just say wear a masik or pay a fine. There were SOME municipalities that have Ordinances that assign a fine to a failure to comply with an Emergency Order, but they are few and far between.

Puff pieces? He is a constitutional scholar. I don't have credentials like that not sure if you do either but I'm guessing by calling it a puff piece I'm going with no......I don't know of one local ordinance that fines someone for not wearing a mask. Here in Ohio it is a directive from the governor. And its constitutional. The people claiming your argument just don't want to do it.

You clearly did not pay attention to what idiots like Lina tried to do...or the judge in Dallas. There is a reason Abbott put into place an Order that would supercede any of the local nonsense.

We believe strongly in the Constitution of the Great State of Texas.

If you want to wear a mask, then more power to you. It isn't protecting you and if you know you don't have the 'rona, then it isn't protecting anyone else either...

Oh, and YES...he degree from the French Culinary Institute DOES make it a puff piece.

And that being said, I have probably got more time dealing with matters of Texas law than he does...

I regularly go to see clients at small businesses and, almost without exception, when I ask them if they want me to wear a mask they say no. They are all sick of this stupid crap.

You forgot his JD from Georgetown and PhD from Princeton in political science. And it doesn't say anything about just Texas law. Apparently you don't pay attention.

I think the broader issue is that healthy people are at extremely low risk, and those with health issues should be the ones taking stronger measures, not the entire population.

No, we should base the shutdowns and how we run the country on what happens at clinics.

So all of the doctors and scientists that have "real world" experience don't know what they are talking about? Your video is weak.

And no one said to shut the country down. Its about masks.....
