Just starting to look around for one of these. Any advice on what to look for? Looking at their website it seems there are 10 or so options. I hear some people complain of these beds trapping heat as you sleep. I guess the dual-airflow options are meant to address this?

Any advice on where/how to get a good deal Houston?

Bought one (Rhapsody) at gallery furniture. Around 3 thousand for a King size.. Absolutely love it. They do have a wide selection, and are very helpful in finding exactly which one iworks best for you. No high pressure either. Only problem is you will have problems getting a good nights sleep when you try sleeping on anything else. The pillows that go with it are excellent too.

If you're inside the loop or on the south part of town, I heard on the radio that gallery opened a tempeurpedic store in Highland Village so you don't have to make the trek out to North Houston.

I live in Austin but have the same questions. I'd also like to add the question (hopefully not hijacking the thread) of 'is it possible to negotiate the prices on tempurpedic'?

All of the places I've visited to buy one are pretty firm in their stance on price. There is also a price increase Jan 2nd. I'd like to know if that's just a show (typical) or if these really do stay true to price.

    Thanks.

i have slept on a "real" tempurpedic bed and absolutely loved it. Right now, however, i simply have one of those 3 or 4 inch thick tempur-pedic (knockoff, from Bed, Bath & Beyond) mattress toppers... and i think that is pretty kick ***. it's deep enough for me to sink in, and my bed still stays pretty firm since i have a quality mattress underneath. i think it was around $250, but was a wedding present so i'm not exactly sure. definitely worth whatever the cost was.

i would certainly give it a look, but if you're cool springing for the whole bed, again--it's pretty rad. good luck!

I have the base model, and have no problems with heat trapping. My wife is extremely hot natured, and she has no problems either. In fact, she is generally cooler than when we were on a normal bed in the past.

I love ours. It is just awesome. In 2 days, I went from back pain to the point of barely being able to get out of bed to virtually none whatsoever.

I get very hot in bed, and the bed has not caused me any heat issues. the prices are pretty firm, I bought mine at Gallery Furniture (Ken Houston former Houston Oiler works the mattress department there and is very helpful) and my parents went to Mattress Firm and got the same mattress. the price was identical and both delivered that night.

Whoever said it makes it hard to sleep away is right, I have issues when travelling now.

    RebornHorn,
Didn't think about asking for a cut on the price. But when we hesitated a bit, the salesman offered to throw in 2 tempurpedic pillows. At $250 each they are fantastic. They are very heavy, but once you've tried them you won't be satisfied with anything else.

We've had ours for about six months and we really like it. I'll try to find out which one we got but it's a queen and was around $2k, perhaps a bit more. Be prepared for one thing, though: They've got a VERY strong odor when you first get it. It goes away pretty quickly but I just thought you should know.

I also just bought the mattress topper deal at BB&Y. It was $500 for the king size, but was on sale and I had a 20% coupon so I got it for less than $400. Anyway, the thing is awesome really. I have a pretty new and firm mattress underneath it and this topper has made my bed perfect for me. anyone who has a pretty good mattress and wants to try tempurpedic I think this is a good option. It also came with a cover for it that is supposed to help reduce the heat. It seems to work. i have not gotten hot with it yet and I usually get really hot when i sleep.

I have had one for 3 years now, no heat problems, its done wonders for my back pain, and being single, every now and then when a am lucky enough to have company, they rave about how comfy it is. I will never buy another brand of mattress again. The Tempurpedic rules! [IMG]
