    More TFB --

I’ve been talking to folks from around the country who are either coaches, trainers, 7v7 guys, etc. and one thing is very clear – Sark and his staff are very different than the previous staff.

They are extremely aggressive and they are very well liked and they are absolutely hitting the ground running.

No more of this, well let’s see how few offers we can make. If they like a kid, they offer him. It’s getting the attention of a lot of people. Earlier today, I spoke with someone close to Raleek Brown who shared a few interesting insights which I’ll post later.

    Possible PWO
I think he is a TCU PWO we are trying to steal
    Which is kind of funny
    LUKE LINGARD on Hudl

    ____________
Another possible PWO is Michael Taffee, DB from Westlake

Any idea the reason for the transfer? Was he deep in the depth chart or just looking for a better location that Indiana.

If they improve on Herman's recruiting (which was dam good until the wheels fell off), we are looking to compete for championships.... finally

Is this not a "political" comment? Where's the outrage?

With a last name like that, perhaps someone needs to alert the play-by-play announcers.

    Joe,

In his speech to donors, Sarkisian mentioned watching the portal specifically for DE & RB, stating that we were "lite" at those positions. Hence, the kid from ND may be targeted for that, although I'm happier with the RBs than I am with LBs.

Last 2 seasons, just 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks
He does have 2 seasons of eligibility (possibly 3)
He certainly identified a team that will give him an opportunity

Agree on RB. Not sure on the status of Daniel Young but he is still on the team as of now (unless I missed it)
And without Ossai, we basically have no edge rush. Of the returning edge players, Ojomo had 2 sacks and Jones had 2. LOL. that's it. Someone must step up or the D is going to be in trouble. The options are Bimage, Dorbah, the transfers or one of the freshmen. Maybe Coach K can scheme his way to QB pressure?

Here is also something from the ND site on all of that

    1. Oghoufo was likely going to be the 2nd string rush end behind Isaiah Foskey... at Notre Dame. It was a surprise to many that he decided to transfer, but he had his mind made up since at least the end of October that he was leaving Notre Dame. He stuck it out for his teammates over the last few months.

    2. He was somewhat positionless at Notre Dame, which was somewhat unfortunate. He was originally recruited to play LB, but then started his career at rush end. He never quite put on enough weight to play the spot, so he was more of a sub-package guy. I think he'll be fine in the B12 as he won't be facing power run programs as much, so it'll give him a better shot to stay on the field as a 3-down guy.

    3. Oghoufo did play against Alabama and quite a bit as Notre Dame’s starter (Daelin Hayes) didn’t play much due to an injury. I wouldn’t take too much from that game as he was in over his head against Alex Leatherwood. Overall in 2020, Oghoufo played around 15-20 snaps a game. Notre Dame rotated quite a bit so he did get some snaps on first and second down, but right now, he’s a better pass rusher than anything else.

    4. He looks longer than he is, but if he can develop some pass rush counters and better hands he can be effective. He can also drop and be pretty decent there. The tools are there, but he didn’t hold the edge enough at Notre Dame for him to see consistent time. He was also stuck behind Julian Okwara and Daelin Hayes for the first two years and then Hayes and Isaiah Foskey in 2020. He’ll be good enough to plug and play, but not sold him being a game wrecker.

    5. High character kid and a character. He committed super early to Notre Dame as his high school teammate Khalid Kareem played for the Irish (now with the Bengals), so he has a good support system around him. I think a fresh start will be good for him. You guys will definitely enjoy getting to know him.

Burnt, you seem to be in denial or perhaps you are a troll.

Not everything is about racism. Why did SFU fire Strong (after he left Texas) after a 4-8 record in 2019? Was that racist too?

You are doing yourself a disservice by defaulting automatically to a position that enables you to bypass an objective analysis.

If stupid is a choice, he made it!

Strong was fired due to him being the worst coach in the history of Texas football. If he can’t understand that, there’s no helping him.

He-Man was fired due to a 1-4 record against OU, no conference championships, and losing control of the team. Any success in any of those three points and he’d have kept his job. But 0-3 and he’s on the street. As he should be. You compare and contrast the coaching staff now and the one Texas had a month ago. If you’re ticked by the difference, you know nothing about football.

As for the Band, they can either play the official school song, or be replaced by a MP3 file, their choice, and I care not.

I know he is gone, but the Bo Pelini hire was a real head scratcher. I think he basically alienates everyone if the team is not winning.

Win or lose or tie, he alienates everyone by breathing. There is no place in athletics for someone like Bo Pelini, not even coaching PE at Youngstown Middle School.

OK, so, if we assume Ibraheem will be in, where does that leave us?
    Four spots left?

    1. Abiara or Lawrence (w/ Bimage, Dorbah, Thornton, Oghoufo and maybe Jones, I thinks that's it)
    2. LJJ
    3. Uke (OL)
    4. Transfer RB Eric Gray? (sounds like ou, but he has not yet announced)

if not Gray, then another RB? what if neither LJJ or Gray, which is possible?

Can we keep the political stuff out of this thread? See a bunch of new posts, get excited that someone committed only to see the same tired arguments about a topic that was covered in full last year. BurntOrangeLH is a troll. Engaging him is what keeps him around. I vote that we stop

Spot on. After the debacle pelini created after the 09 big12 championship, I sent an email to Tom Osborne about how that guy did not represent what Nebraska had been and it was an embarassment to the university. Osborne responded with a long letter. Class act Osborne, dumpster fire pelini.

Youngstown makes Port Arthur look like a garden spot. Add Port Arthur has good food and music, and Youngstown is truly in a class by itself.

I won't say that Youngstown is the ******* of the world, but if God ever decides to give the world an enema, the people of Youngstown better be watching the sky for the nozzle.

    Legend,

I agree that Pelini has set standards in classless shitheadery that would be hard to equal, but Osborne is in my Top Ten for classless coaches.

Gerry Hamilton agrees with my post above (is he a Hornsfan lurker too?) and thinks the 2 transfers will push Lawrence to UH
He thinks Abiara "remains a heavy Texas lean"

Personally I have mixed feelings about Abiara. But the team is in serious need of edge rushers so onward we go

Hamilton does think we would, of course, jump at the chance to land 5-star J.T. Tuimoloau. But for us to even have a chance, this recruitment would need to go past Feb and into the Spring.
Other possibles for the edge are --
    Dylan Brooks (Handley High/Roanoke, AL)
    KaTron Evans (St. Francis Academy/Baltimore)
