Centenary College here in in Shreveport..........fall 2024, Div 3 Im guessing.............dont laugh, back in the day the played and beat UT and LSU both................last fielded a team in 1941. Only other claim to fame is the Chief Robert Parish playing college roundball there. Football to make a return at Centenary College in 2024
That's an interesting bit of trivia. Unfortunately, since I know who "The Chief" is, it shows that I'm old.
Fall of 1971, my soph. year at Jesuit at football practice........Woodlawn High's (where Parish went to high school) BB team comes over to scrimmage our team.........we all see Parish and couldnt believe how tall he was...........Woodlawn High was also the school for Terry Bradshaw and Joe Ferguson.........alas I guess Im getting old also.....

A little more historical perspective.........in 1930 the Gents played UT in Austin to a 0-0 tie during an 8-1-1 campaign that included wins over Iowa, Baylor and Arkansas........only loss was to Aggies 7-6. In 1932 they played LSU up here in S'port and won 6-0 during a 8-0-1 campaign........beat UT 13-6 in Austin along with wins over Ole Miss, SMU and A&M...........they tied the Hogs 0-0.
A a school kid In the 60s I remember going to see centenary play at moody coliseum vs smu . smu was good at the time but centenary always gave them a game. Well coached IIRC.
