We don’t know how it would’ve gone, but it’s very possible that Harrison could’ve got us to the end of the game giving up 0, 1, or 2 runs. In such case, Nixon would still be completely fresh. Same with anyone else we use.

Full disclosure—between them, Pierce and Allen have won hundreds upon hundreds more college baseball games as coaches than I have….

 

Nixon comes in and gets 2 batters, but walks hitter #3.... bases juiced.

That was a hell of a performance last night. Granted TN had played virtually nobody before last night, but they had the #1 offense and #2 pitching in the country.

Trying to decide if I want to go to the LSU game tonight. I have to work tomorrow and wouldn't get home until about 2-3 am. I'm getting softer the older I get. 30 years ago sleep was optional.
