I remember the brackens hit. It was right in front of me. Kicker got hit so hard his great grandparents felt it.
I wore (with pride) #60 in HS. I wasn't quite the badazz Tommy was (as indicated by my dirth of FB Scholy offers).
I was really concerned that the kicker’s neck might be broken. I would be surprised that, even now, many years later, that kicker doesn’t still suffer some after effects of the hit.
To me there has never been a defensive player as impactful as Nobis. Perhaps not even close. Sure, for a game or two… We have been waiting over a half century for the next Tommy Nobis.
So, brother and sister HF's, I got no saved photos and my duck-duck-go search got NO #59's for the Horns, so I am reaching out like for a lifeline for #59 on Tuesday..... Can you pity & help a HF brother in need?
I'm either unable or just don't how to post photos from my phone but do a search for Rick Burleson. Back when I participated in this thread I used him several times.
thanks - I cant post up photos with my phone either. I did a search on 2 different browsers, but could not locate a photo of Rick, but I will recognize him with this post. #59 DT - Rick Burleson
Sorry, this is the best I can do. I searched for the last 30 minutes and could find nothing. Even spent about 15 minutes specifically on Rick Burleson. One of the best players on a mediocre 1976 5-5-1 team. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1977 in the 6th round. I found references to him everywhere but never found a picture.
I couldn't find a pic, but I did find this grainy video. You can see Rick in action at the 1:50 mark of this video vs Tech in 1976.
