Ewers Tweet… anyone know sumthin?

I thought about the tweet and the subsequent starting announcement and was wondering. Did Coach know or or give warning/notice not to throw anything out there? Possibly bad form on Ewers’ part with respect to his primary competitor and teammate Card.
In any case, Coach seems to have a good handle on the pulse of his players and hopefully no bad blood has been created.

Not a good way to show team leadership. I hope the coach had something to say to him. From what I have heard Ewers hasn’t shown much so far, so the plan was to start him the whole time.

This is actual good for Card because Ewers will falter and Card can come be the savior.

Maybe Sark is playing 3-D chess to teach Ewers some maturity by letting him fall short in the OOC games and being replaced by Card mid season.

 

I see Ewers throwing 2-3 INTs per game. Our only hope is that they at least in line with the game plan that opens up running lanes for Bijan

 

I highly highly doubt that this was a starting announcement. I still think it’s something to do with NIL… I’ve seen other players hint at a NIL like this.

 

I looked at the tweet and someone thought it might be regarding the Austin Gamblers a bull riding team.

If the tweet was a reference to the (at the time) upcoming starter announcement — which seems almost a certainty (“almost”) — Sark learned something about Ewers and his maturity. His youthful exuberance notwithstanding, a player cannot go rogue with something this important to the team and their psyche. Players in the “Card Camp” may not be feeling the love… I’m guessing that Sark is contemplating some type of message sending move.

I have very high hopes for Ewers but I see an inkling of a Jeff George type in him. Hope I’m wrong.

 

So...looked at this thread this morning and...man I'd hate to be a player reading this stuff sometimes.
I would say I'm surprised but that's the sad reality...
"We're Texas" can mean lots of things.
Unfortunately, it often means a bunch of uncalled for friendly fire (what friendly fire IS called for?) Seems like a good portion of the fan base likes to run down people that they supposedly exist for the purpose of supporting simply to indulge themselves.
Keep it up, guys. I'm sure it will help get us where we want to go.
Anyone else on the team you guys would like to run down before the season even starts?

When you say you guys, who do you mean? I made a joke about the play book. Otherwise, I don't think I got in on the speculation.

I think the problem here is my initial words were too harsh. My apologies to all. I have a flair for the dramatic sometimes I suppose. I'll go edit my words but keep my sentiment.

I’ve posted this many times. Message boards exist for the fans. And without the fans there would be no licensing deals, no massive TV deals, no revenue exceeding $100,000,000/year and no enormous NIL deals.

As I’m sure most will agree, the fans have every right to opine. It just needs to be done respectfully without trashing the players. Some are incapable of observing without criticizing. I “try” to walk that fine line carefully.

I stand by my comments about the appearance and effect of the Ewers Tweet. Not good.

BTW, on the Agiye Hall situation, in the absence of more information, I have been defending the young man.

Thanks, my line in the sand has always been adults who can’t run a 40, never mind in x seconds, who trash individual players. Ridiculous- and PLEASE … I am talking in general not about anyone in this thread.

When i see or am involved in any such thing I always think its like high school and all the Hfers are running around yelling "Fight Fight Fight...Fight in the Cafeteria (Ewers Tweet thread)!!!" excitedly.
