Watched the boys Saturday night and I'm hopeful for a great season. You can't really project based off preseason contests with no stars playing. But Kavonte Turpin scored touchdowns on one punt return and one kickoff return. When Dak starts throwing the passes young receivers will emerge. Michah Parsons is going to wreak havoc on NFC offenses.

No, but former Longhorn and freakishly fast linebacker Malik Jefferson is on the roster and has an outside shot to make the team

Arrogant, prideful owner, never takes responsibility or acknowledges error that learning and improvement can occur
Ill advised contracts and just general mishandling of contract situations
    Poor usage of free agency
Soft environment = soft players/play, fluff over blue collar substance
Whip cream and cherries over meat and potatoes
    Glam more important than culture
Marketing more important than good, substantive ingredients to real success
Poor overreaches and unnecessary risks in draft..trying to be cute
Gross negligence of o and d line importance to success
Jones is a pr/sales/marketing guy who thinks because he's great at that he's good at everything and he's not. He's no football guy.
Watched and supported since I came out of the womb.
I will only casually check in this year.
They've made a joke of a once proud and storied franchise.
Wish them the best and Im sure Ill come out of the woodwork if they get interesting, but...Ive never had a lower view of the franchise than at this juncture in history.

    Nailed it rain.

I will add that I have not seen a football “team” in Dallas since the 90s. j
Plenty of talent but just a bunch of disparate parts cobbled together that don’t really seem to complement each other.

it’s also been that long since they had a real coach who could manage his roster, so

Once in a while, my reading comprehension skills (complements of the Galveston Public School System) collectively rears it’s ugly head. Happened again this morning when I read the title of this post as “Cowboys Excrement Building”.
The Poke fan I was as a youth would like to see them regain their once lofty status, but I’m afraid one giant ego stands in the way.

Lol! Sorry we pooped so much in your post, Crockett.
But it’s just not allowed to be excited about the Boys.

Perfect summary statement, Rain. Nailed it squarely!
I always wonder what might have happened if Jerry had hired a good GM (football guy) to run football while Jerry ran the business end. What might have been...

I have NEVER been a jerrah fan except maybe when he hired Jimmy
BUT I have definitely seen a different side of him when I volunteered for the Super Bowl and then for Conference USA basketball tourneys at the Star in Frisco.
I got to interact with the paid little people working security and events.
I was surprised that they all gave him high praise as an employer. They talked about his interaction with them. He , to them, seemed to go out of his way to speak to them and treat them with respect.
Too bad he can't let his ego get out of the way.

I've been rooting for the Cowboys since I moved to Texas as a 8 year old. Jerry is a very competent business guy who has learned something about delegation over the last decade. His relationships with players can undercut coaches with personalities weaker than Jimmy Johnson. But the team now drafts well and has better players than most of its competitors.

I fear that time is running out on my life-long dream of seeing a Dallas-Houston Super Bowl. (Or even seeing a Houston team in the Super Bowl, for that matter.)

If the Cowboys want to go to the Super Bowl, they should get their ticket order in quickly before the resellers gobble them all up.

Don't they have a board? This one is for Longhorn Football

Pizz on jones. He had some success early because of an idiot GM in Minnesota. Then it's been 27 years of also competing

Yeah....Ill never forgive Frank Reich for screwing up the best opportunity we ever had. Warren Moon vs Troy Aikman and an all Texas showdown looked like a real possibility...until it didn't.

Still one of the funniest things I ever heard was a day after that Bills game, Rush Limbaugh played the Houston Oilers, Number One fight song, but had recorded it as though it was on a very badly warped vinyl album, just hilarious.

No one has yet explained what is the building that is known to excite cowboys. The suspense is killing me. A ***** house on the prairie is the best I can come up with.

This thread reminds me of a story of two sisters who while on travel decided to attend Sunday services at a little country church. The sour sister noticed the piano was out of tune and found three typos and a grammatical error in the worship guide. The sweet sister met several interesting people, one of whom had a mutual friend. She had a lovely worship experience and left more energized in her faith.
Each sister found exactly what she was looking for.

I admit I look for reasons to run down Jerry Jones and his POS organization.

    Feel better now?

I echo that. I live in Arlington and every person, regardless of social status, who has had a personal interaction with him/ love the guy.
    So does his players.
