A win is a win, but I am still not convinced. WV dropped a lot of passes and the weakness exposed by Tech was still evident throughout the game. We’ll have to play much better in order to challenge for the Big XII.
which of our players is playing like they might eventually be drafted to the NFL after these 5 games? I would say j Sanders, Bijan, worthy and Roschon.
looks like Sark came out of the closet with his play calling to a greater degree. I like it. even in the second half until it was obvious we were going to win. Nice conference win.
I recall only 1 interception after 5 games. We need to create more turnovers. That quick slant is open all the time.
My impression. Texas still needs to focus on finishing games while keeping their strong starts going. Tighter coverage. At the start DBs were breaking up passes but as the game went on less and less. They need to improve on making plays on the ball throughout the game. Offense needs to cut out penalties. Play callers need to call to strengths down the stretch of games. Great usage of JT Sanders today. He is a weapon that needs to be used the rest of the way.
We're like the proving grounds for opposing OC's. Tonight's menu was "how can we control the ball with those quick hitters?" and it worked... kinda. The problem was getting down 28-0 before it started to click. WVU's WRs just weren't up to the task on some plays, and that was a big difference. I know it's going to be the "W is a W" and "I bet you're real fun at parties" crowd against me, but I'd have bet on a potential L if we witnessed this stuff in a "normal" home game from 2010-2021: 1. Giving up 50% on 3rd down 2. Giving up 60% on 4th down 3. Out-possessed by 5 min 4. Zero forced turnovers 5. Committed more penalties (although one was a really, really bad call) 6. Only 3.4 ypc 7. Giving our star RB the ball in garbage time to get him to triple digits It's the "good" stuff that made this one seem like a rout. I'm hoping for more of it next weekend in Dallas. It gets us noticed, but our strong suit has never been beating down overmatched/scrappy squads. Relying on the big play for offense has just never been the "Texas" recipe for success. Sark seems to relish the opportunities to go downfield and it sure is exciting. But right now it also seems like feast or famine.
Texas would be undefeated if not for freak injuries at OL, WR, and QB. Not perfect, mind you, but undefeated.
That's me. I had to admit when the coaches did a good job on something. Sanders was a key to the win. He needs to be the rest of the way.
I was getting really tired of that Bevo horns thing on the jumbotron every time WVU had a 3rd or 4th down. It seems like they converted about 50 of them tonight...
I was most impressed by the way I played tonight: I was focused Kept my head in the game Timed the commercial breaks perfectly Shut out the dog's distractions Knew we were going to blow the lead again, but kept watching And faked sincere concern when my wife fell off the ladder All in all a great night for me.
Card, on the season, is 69% throwing the ball with 1 interception and six tds and 118 yards rushing. in his two losses he played well enough to win those but for non-calls, and a turnover by Bijan, plus, Sark constricting the playbook on him. Many hold last year against him and can't shake his bad play. that's unfortunate. But he has been a blessing this season while Ewers is out.
Hey now, they received the trophy for the ugliest uniforms in the history of college football and got dominated by okie lite at the same time. Gonna win the B12.
Yes Sanders was very key tonight. He hasnt been used this will since Ewers went out. He is a game changer and should be Cards best friend. Great hands!
Totally agree. I am sick of the defense lining up offsides. It isnt that frikn hard to check your position. Really!!!
