Watching the Purple Kitten recording on Sunday I was surprised to hear even the FS1 announcers discuss the rampant no-holding calls by KSU O-line. Until it got embarrassing enough on the cameras, seems like the B12 refs are happy to allow handsy O-lineman against Texas. It has to be pretty bad when announcers start acknowledging it. How are the Gooners fairing in this regard?
No freaking kidding, all year its been happening and the joke that is Big XII officiating just keeps getting worse.
KSU was holding quite a bit in the second half, but they are amatures compared to OSU. The OSU offense held on almost every play. They were not even trying to hid it. Any why should they? The Big 12 officials absolutely refused to call it.
we routinely get screwed on those calls, and i’m convinced the big 12 wants their highest ranked team(s) to keep their ranking. so i expect us to get royally screwed on several calls this saturday.
Yeah ...it's easy to criticize dl for not getting off blocks, but what are you supposed to do if you are not superhuman and a 300 pounder has both hands wrapped up in your jersey?
I loved the replay that showed Coburn get spun around when the guy grabbed him around the waste, and he breaks free to chase the play, pausing just long enough to turn to the official, throw his hands up and say "COME ON!!!!" Or something along those lines.
I'm with Pete Carroll on this one. You do it until someone calls it, and then you continue to do it. If it's working, you double down on it and continue as much as humanly possible.
Horns have to be 10 points better than their B12 opponents to win. I'm sure it will be the same thing this Saturday.
