I have followed Longhorn football since 1964. I have seen lots of bad teams, but this offense tonight was the absolute worst from opening kickoff to final gun. Period. Never witnessed 60 full minutes of nuthin’
Sark is a good O coordinator, but not HC material. His record at 3 D1 programs prove that he is mediocre at best and will deliver a .500 result. Good, nice guy - but if Texas ever expects to be “back”, it’s with a different head coach who can make tough calls, manage the game and his coaches, and win games in crunch moments. another winnable game that was pissed away. 6-4. Better than last year, but feeling like the tallest midget is what this feels like.
It seems clear now that Ewers is not seeing the field very well. The misread of not seeing Bijan wide open is not the first time and in seems that him missing those reads is the norm.
THE DEFENSE WAS STELLAR TONIGHT!! Sark: Ewers throwing deep often when receivers are not open and often in double coverage???
You can be both outplayed and out coached. Outcoached on offense and special teams mixed with Awful Qb play and O line execution and you get this. Feel bad for the defense. An elite performance but for one bust
There is no team, except Bama, that we have played that is more talented than the Horns, but several that we have played are better coached.
I don't understand how we could go from all these 100+ yard games for Bijan to absolute dogshit in the course of a week. I think the list of recruits attending and the "Vegas says we're favorites" ******** got to their heads and Sark couldn't rein them back in. The OL didn't understand what was right in front of them and we completely abandoned the run because of it. Roschon needed to get going too.
Our O is a real **** show. I know QE is technically a Frosh, but he was at Ohio St for a season, and should be producing better than what we saw tonight. With out the D playing lights out, the final score could have been worse, a lot worse.
Bad night for Sark. A win next week is now required - otherwise Texas football gets lot more complicated. Much more than now.
1. We’re close - so close… 2. Complimentary football… 3. Baking a cake (wait…) 4. It’s hard (wait…) 5. Just need to execute (heard that from my buddy jimbo)
We just lost by 7 to the #4 team in the country. Poor play by Ewers (he seems to have lost his confidence) and the receivers not doing him any favors. Sark, too, had unfounded confidence Ewers, an inexperienced QB. D was awesome till they got worn out - they kept us in the game.
We continue to be a mediocre program, loaded with talent. While there are plenty of culprits tonight, it starts with Sark. His play-calling was poor, and it didn’t help his young QB at all.
I really thought we would see him in the second half. But, Sark decided that the hill he was going to die on was to stay with QE leading the O.
He was at Ohio State for what would have been his senior year in HS, and not playing on top of that, so in a way he's basically playing what would have been his senior year snaps at Carroll right now. And I think going to Card late in the first half would have been the right move to try to save the intermediate passing game, which in turn, would have opened up more run lanes. But Sark is Sark and wants to prove that he knows more about offense than anyone in the room, so he stubbornly kept at it.
