It’s the players, not the coaches.

It's Sark. He doesn't hold players accountable. The team is sloppy.

He doesn't get on the refs. That long TD run was due to a hold. Play before had a blatant hold. Sark wears bad suits. That is all he is good at. Texas should be in the conference championship game this year based on talent. They won't. It's on the coach.

Sark and Ewers are the biggest most glaring problems with this team.

O line, running backs, receivers? Everyone on offense sucked tonight. Lost count of the dropped passes.

Ewers attitude has begun to interest me. I've been a critic of his in regards to ability and fundamentals. But his lack of competitive desire and fire is equally troubling.

NIL $. Why would a 19yo want to improve when you're sitting on a lot of cash? Reminds me of tiger woods comments about LIV golfers taking huge $$ with out earning it. "Where's the need to improve your game"?

I said it elsewhere. Whereas the pundits say he is cool as a cucumber and doesn't get rattled, I say it looks like he is on drugs.

If he is that un bothered by playing like he did tonight, albeit dropped passes didn't help, he just needs to go.

Ewers isn't a cool customer who is calmly competing. He is a prima donna happy to be on the field and getting NIL money. Apart from that he doesn't care. If you accept that fact his play makes sense. He. Doesn't. Care.

Watch his mechanics. Lazy as sh-t.

This is the second time the idiotic wildcat formation killed the chance for a huge momentum swing after the defense was playing lights out. Perfect opportunity early to get points and it gets stonewalled. Same exact thing happened against Tech on the Horns first drive of the second half. Stonewalled! Momentum gone! Too much talent to keep being held to 3 points! Four very winnable games and four unbearable losses. Will things get better next year? Or will it be the same song and dance?

Ewers (and Sark due to his inability to pull Ewers) are killing us. responsible for 2 of our 4 losses this year.

Sark is a bad game day coach and Ewers can’t read a defense. Looks lazy and careless also.

You blame the players but this is a Culture of entitlement that starts with sark losing winnable games to coddling his star players. Defense did what they had to today. Next time will they? For what? For Ewers to f**k around looking cool and confident whole he sucks.

I bet the team would respond very positively to a change at this time

This game shows a bunch about Sark’s deficiencies- first and goal at the 2 and Robinson is on the sidelines for first and second down— again a team putting 9 defensive guys on the line and again no short passing game(just like tech) or any adjustments- going for the blocked punt when there is 12 minutes left and would have had good field position-not any where close to a high percentage play, much less a smart play- and failure again to put in Card to try and make something happen -
Sark will be here at least 2 more years - I don’t like our chances of getting better- I hope I’m wrong - but Sark is 11-11 - so he is who he is
Dykes is in his first year at tcu, Brian Kelly is in his first year at lsu, the guy at tech is in his first year, Josh H is in his second year at Tennessee, and Aranda at Baylor won the big 12 in his second year - but Sark needs more time - a good coach finds ways to win with what he has now - no real big jump in improvement, record, from first season to now
Anyone feel confident we’ll win our last two games?

And a huge pile of money, but apparently that’s what we do now — guarantee obscene amounts of money to coaches who have never once in their careers demonstrated they will earn it.

Ewers is not a good QB. He may be in the future but he is not ready to play. It is time for a change. I have tried to be on Sarks side but he is not doing his job. Pattersons D played lights out. Maybe patterson needs to coach o also. They showed Ewers face on the sideline and he looked lost. Overrated!!!!!

Sark is too stubborn to admit he was wrong. And now he's in too deep a hole to make a change. Accept .500 seasons for the next couple of years. Maybe by the time Ewers is a SR he'll have a few good games.

Even Herman had a 10 win season. That ain't happening with Sark. His teams will continue to beat themselves.

Other posters talked about 8-4 so I will be THRILLED with that by the end of this season. Another season of lowered expectations. :(

Yep he is not a good QB right now and Sark”s stubbornness at this juncture might be ruining him. If he was ever going to be worth a ****.

Ewers is a s one read QB. Sark has made him look brilliant at times but it is all smoke and mirrors. I am sure If we give Sark a few more days to break down film on TCU he will have 2qtrs worth of scripted plays to make Ewers look brilliant. .

problem is that once the other team has it diagnosed these two clowns have nothing. It was all an illusion.

I think what young Mr Ewers needs right now is a heavy dose of humble pie, no more of this “he is our QB” nonsense. get back to the basics, sit, and learn. If his ego is too fragile for that he can transfer we don’t need him.
As for Sark, he’s too old. He is what he is and that us not a game day coach. Not a head coach either. i doubt he can make the necessary changes

Not necessarily. But it is incumbent on the coaches to make changes when the play on the field demands it--like Ewers last night arguably should have been taken out and Card put in at the beginning of the third quarter. Ewers was unable to move the team, hit open receivers, see open receivers and audible away from a play that was doomed to fail, e.g., running into a box stacked to stop the run. Card with more experience, likely would have had more success last night because he may be able to audible, see the field better, and use his legs to gain positive yards.
Sark has shown that he won't sub in Card even when what happens on the field points to that move. I know he's trying to build Ewers confidence, but Ewers two distinct failing experiences (osu and tcu) may be doing just the opposite by showing Ewers simply isn't able to handle a decent defense that stacks the line and dares him to pass may be tearing down what confidence he has had.

Baylor will be a huge test for this team. Kansas to a lesser degree, because they don't have the physicality that Baylor has on defense.

I think the question has been answered. Sark is not the answer.
Heupel in second year at little ut, 9-1 probably in playoff.
Dykes in first year, regular season champ likely in the playoff.
Kelly in first year, Sec west champion.
Dan lanning (Oregon). 8-2 (upset last night) first year.

Sark 2nd year looks much like his first year with no consistency on either side of the ball.
Venables first year, dumpster fire (we aren’t far behind)
You are what your record says you are and Sark is struggling to stay at mediocre. He’ll get another year, just because, but he is clearly in Charlie Strong territory. More probable that they finish 6-6 than 8-4 at this point. Will be interesting to see what the portal exits look like for us at the end of this year. Next year an almost new set of backs with RJ and BR gone, Whit gone. Ewers has shown no improvement. The o-line should be better, but will it make a difference. Defense, will it be the one we saw last night or what we have seen in most of the games. Who knows. Predictions for wins next year will probably be 7.5.

Been a Ewers believer since South Lake days and TH not being able to land him and loosing him was part of Herman’s demise. But him and his family got too clever by half with this whole cock eyed scheme of skipping senior year to start draft eligibility early and I’m going to be a star for 2 years and go to the league in first round…

    Nah Bra.
You’re closer to a QB battle in the Spring and loosing it then you are to an NFL practice squad. Him and his cohort got a whole body length over their skis with this crap and it’s got to be put away. Strap in young buck.
I still think he has the talent and ability to be the future here but he has much further to go then I thought after his first few performances. He should be starting to roll by now and he’s regressing. A start or two from Card here May not be the worst thing. Arch is coming because the Manning family thinks highly of Sark… time for him to show why that is and prove he’s worth the money and confidence. Cuz he ain’t right now. 11-11.

Yep, time to stop acting cocky and relaxed, kid. If he’s going to amount to anything it’s time to forget everything he thought he knew about himself and get ready to put in some serious work.
if anyone is still telling him he’s an nfl qb or even a college starter he needs to tune them out. That includes Sark LO
