We all know the poison Herman spread with the "Eyes of Texas" debacle. Remember, Traylor either encouraged or did not say a word when woke politics at UTSA decided to cancel the "Come and Take It" imagery and slogan.

Now I'm not saying that "Come and Take It" had the history and tradition as the "Eyes of Texas", but in the short history of UTSA football, it was the only real tradition they had.

With his history of pissing on traditions at the drop of a woke hat, should he even be considered in the conversation? Do we want somebody who is willing to put a wedge between the team and the entire fan base again?

Tom Herman encouraged players to protest the Eyes of Texas. That was a Tom Herman and a football player led event.

I do not at all agree with the UTSA removal of come and take it, nor do the fans (white or hispanic). I am happy to report, fans have kept come and take it alive and well. I hold out hope it may officially return once this UTSA president is gone.

That said, UTSA athletics (not Traylor nor anyone else) were not involved in that "protest" (it was not even a protest, it was literally one person complaining) or decision. It is pretty clear UTSA athletics completely embraced come and take it. The short story is an America/Texas hating professor from Mexico complained and felt the Texas Revolution and anything Texas is "anti-Mexico" and offensive to Mexican Nationals. The tradition was started 6 years before it was removed. The person who started it was hispanic former UTSA president and Longhorn grad, Ricardo Romo (who is a native Texan from the west side of San Antonio). The tradition was popular with all nearly americans of any race in the UTSA community (as evidenced by the facebook/social media reaction in favor of come and take it when it was removed and the fact is has not remotely died among fans of all races). In spite of this, UTSA's white president, Taylor Eighmy, who arrived to UTSA from New Hampshire and is completely unfamiliar with Texas, sided with the professor from Mexico and unilaterally and surprisingly removed it. The feckless UT System Board of Regents condemned Eighmy but did not take the appropriate action to overturn his decision. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Eighmy and the Board of Regents and their failure to act.

Jeff Traylor was a brand new head coach in his first gig, had not yet coached a game, was not involved in this conflict, had no control over this and stayed out of it beyond saying he had to go along with whatever his boss decided to do. I am not sure what you wanted him to do? Come out against the removal, get fired and have his college coaching career end before it even started? Traylor was a nobody at the time and if he had protested, it would have meant nothing.

Traylor gives weekly interviews in the express news. It is quite clear he is not woke and is very much an east Texan. He is quite openly a Christian. The fact he is mostly definitely not woke and is openly Christian is why I fear UT will never hire him. I did not go into this metric because it is a dumb metric, but Traylor most definitely does not check the wokeness box the last three unsuccessful UT football hires have checked.

It is extremely unfair and factually inaccurate to blame Traylor for that. If anything, I guarantee you he would have it back in a heartbeat as he has been desperate to try and start a similar tradition to rally the community behind. In my opinion, the replacement "Let's Go 210" has not worked out well so far.

So your saying Sark is going 13-1 or 14-1 next year (depending on if they go 1-1 or 0-2 to finish this season) to get to 11 wins above .500.:yippee:

This is a little off the main topic, but Sark snarled a little ('aka Herman") at his press conference this week when asked about Bijan's number of carries. He was arrogant and dismissive. I think maybe the stress fractures are staering to show.

I don't know if anyone else saw it, but the aggie/Umass score just flashed on the screen. Big blowout by the ags, 20-3. It's not just any team that can hold to mighty Minutemen to only a field goal.

    Maybe aggie is back.
