Chris Christie has already said he's going to call out Trump on stage but I don't see Christie getting the nom
As usual multiple things can be true at once. 1. Trump is probably guilty of the charge. 2. Trump is being indicted for something that is seldom prosecuted (at least if we're talking about politicians). 3. The indictment of Trump is a flagrant double standard considering that the same agency made up an element of the crime to justify not indicting Hillary Clinton. This clearly isn't about justice or anyone supposedly not being "above the law" as self-righteous Democrats are claiming. 4. This greatly straightens Trump in the primary, because it encourages conservatives to rally around him and gives credibility to his claims about the DoJ. 5. The Democrats (through the DoJ) are trying to steal the election - from every Republican not named Trump.
Not familiar with the case, but if that's true, then it should be easy to shut this prosecution down.
On the same day, Congress was given a document that states Sleepy and his son took $10 million In payments from Burisma. Remember Joe bragging about getting the prosecutor fired? If Biden isn’t prosecuted, God save the United States. Blood will be in the streets.
Discontent amuck but don’t believe we have the stomach for blood in the streets. Well unless we include the BLM and that’s not happening.
You need to read the case. Very interesting. 1) It establishes the president has the ultimate authority in what is his property and that he can declassify practically at will. 2) NARA has no authority over the president. If NARA disagrees with what the president takes then NARA can take him to civil court. Doing raids on his home isn't part of the deal.
If we become a country that prosecutes the opposing party, there needs to be blood in the streets. Otherwise, there is no United States of America.
We are already there and have been for 8 years. It's just Rs aren't willing to fight the battle the Ds have already started.
There is a different standard for those in power. How do you know if your enemies rule over you? They get away with stuff you can't.
I took a look at it. It's going to be depend on how the court reconciles the PRA with the Espionage Act.
True. The Espionage Act though basically requires you to have intent to cause injury to the U.S.. That's going to be really hard to prove in this case.
You think any of this is reasonable? This is about punishing your opponents. The case doesn't have to be proved. All that has to be proved is that he isn't in the correct tribe.
It says on "e" that "could be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation" just like the others. It doesn't say "intent" but it does seem to imply it. "Has reason to believe.."
You're correct in that this is all BS. However, it looks like he'll have to go to court and show his innocence.
Makes no difference. The case will be heard either in DC or Maryland. Guilty verdicts on all counts are assured (same for the New York case and any other case). Trump needs to pick a favorite from the remainder of the field and back that person so the new President will pardon him from the Federal crimes anyway.
Interesting that Rachel Maddow suggested Trump drop out of 2024 race and then DOJ would drop charges.
iis? Are you now all woke using Rachel's preferred pronoun of He? I agree. Rachel likely didn't come up with that out of the blue.
The only difference is a South Florida jury pool and a Maryland/DC jury pool is the prosecution will have to use more strikes in Florida. They will have no problems finding 14 to 16 jurors and alternates who hate Trump.
The difference is that the defense will have more say so as well on who goes on the jury. Judge Cannon won't allow a fiasco to what we've seen in the D.C. courts. Man, those seditious conspiracy trials were a joke.
