Does anyone know WHY so many of the recruits at the OU game were wearing black rather than Burnt Orange gear we provided them?

This was before and during the game.

I was watching both ABC's and ESPN's coverage. I noticed there were large groups of older guys standing near the tunnel wearing black polos. They had white Longhorns on the left chest with white trim on the neck. Those guys were too old to be recruits, but there were younger guys in the groups with them. Later on in the game, you could see them behind the team on sideline views.

There are very strict rules (no kidding) regarding contact with recruits by any affiliated person. For example, during the 1969 Champion team recognition at DKR, there was a cordon of UT security to prevent even the most casual contact by former players. Nothing could pump the NCAA enforcement goons more than to bust UT for something like that. There are virtually every other fan in Burnt Orange. Hard to avoid contact. One possible explanation. Im pretty certain all those recruits, including committed players, could not suddenly hate Burnt orange
