Just logged on here. Wow, what a game. Smith backed into our girl that fouled out and the Cowgirls have gotten away with some rough play that the refs just haven't seen in this game. man, we had our chance in the last half minute.

Whatever happens our girls have played lights out, especially this second half.

What a crappy shot. Had a clear shot, dribbled and then threw it up.

    Great game though Horns!!!!

cortijo's mental awareness is lacking. She needs to be off the ball in critical possessions. Put the ball in your best playmaker's hands.

Good game. Coach G is hot.

Great.game. Would rather see OSU and A&M in the final game and not Baylor or OU. BUT....

Sour grapes, I know, but the refs were a factor in taking this win from us. With as physical (dirty if you paid attention to Riley) as OSU played in the second half, there is no way that we should have been in the final ten seconds with UT having 10 team fouls and OSU with only 4. That is just BS...BS!!!!!!!! [IMG]

Good game. Great effort. This is the team we have been waiting for.

If we could figure out how not to get behind 16 points in the first half, we'd be able to beat everyone by 16+ [IMG]

Great game - lots of fire in the second half - wish we'd see more fire and fight in the first half of games. It's like we have to get down to get up! [IMG]

Oh well, let's rest up and get that first game in the NCAA's.

    GO HORNS!!!

I agree, no way they only have 4 fouls at the end of the game. Complete BS.

Coach has really got this team to play hard though and I am looking forward to seeing out team in MM and in the future years

That was a great game! Riley and Green were a little too much. Wish we could have had a better last possession. But, this is something to build on and get better in the tournament. Here's to a great run there!

    What a comeback.

People forget this is a young team that has not played together (and still hasn't without Arriaran) due to a variety of injuries over the past two years. And, to be honest, from an outside perspective, the creativity was really missing from Coach Conradt's offense the past two years. A new coach with a new system was brought in, and the results have been great. You lost your two leading scorers from last year (Jackson and Arriaran), but won 21 games, have three wins over top ten teams, and will make the NCAA Tournament. The future looks bright.

That was really exciting, but damn, couldn't they start their engines a little sooner? They are impressive when they get rolling, but OSU stepped up, unlike Baylor the night before.
Look forward to the future with Coach G at the helm.

    Umm, umm, umm, umm, ummm.

That's all I can say. I'm so proud of our ladies! YES I wanted to win last night but this is awesome!

Now if I could figure out some way to get in that locker room at half time to be a fly on the wall and listen to Coach G's speeches. It's like through the season she has figured out how to motivate these young ladies. Their character, self respect and integrity must be high on the priority list. When she speaks to these topics they respond. Great coaching and leadership Coach G. We're soooo glad you're in TX.

I work with the youth at my church and these kids are a different breed from when I was growing up 20+ years ago. For Coach G to tap into their minds, for lack of a better word and take the time to find out what makes them tick is amazing. It's like she's drawing the very best out of them. She's tapped into the well of each of them that has been dry and dormant and she's bringing it back to life. I LOVE IT!

Hook'em Horns. I can't wait until selection Sunday!

Some notes for all of you:

    - Texas has played in 13 games which have been decided by 10 points or less - including eight of its last 15 contests (all Big 12 games)... After tonight's three-point loss, Texas is 7-6 in these games. This is a sign of a young(er) team...losing close games. The team figured out how to win some of these games later in the year, but next year, there will be more Texas victories in these close games. The players needed to learn how to play in tough, close contests...and what to do to emerge victorious.

    - More statistics and number for you:

    2006-2007 record: 18-14
    2005-2006 record: 13-15
    2004-2005 record: 22-9

This year's record is 21-12. If Coach G wins her first round game, she will equal the 2004-2005 team for wins...and that team had Schreiber, Stephens, Carey, Norman, Bowers, etc.

Also, not counting 2002-2003 and 2003-2004, Texas won between 12 and 22 games each year from 1990-1991 to 2001-2002. If Coach G leads this team to the Sweet 16, she will have achieved more wins (23) in her first season at Texas than in any year since 1989-1990 other than 2002-2003 (29 wins) and 2003-2004 (30 wins)

I disagree with the view that Green and Riley won the game for OSU. In my opinion it was Shaunte Smith. She had 16 rebounds and was 8 of 8 from the free throw line including the last two. She drew that 'charge' at the end of the game too. It was her play that did us in. Amazingly clutch.

UT has nothing to be dissapointed with. Excellent second half against a great team. With Nash and Arriaran on the peremiter together next year, teams cannot do what OSU did and go zone for long periods of time. Coach G's offense is starting to click and they are a very good defensive team. These are all good athletes and they are all starting to realize what it takes to win.

Man, Smith was a killer out there though...

Very nice to see such positive comments after a loss. Another indicator of just how far this team has come in such a short time with Coach G.

Fantastic second half. And, in response to someone, Carla is our best playmaker. I don't know what happened on that last play but it sure didn't unfold the way it was drawn up, seeing as to how confused they seemed to be. Betcha the coaches will break that down and make sure everyone is on the same page should that situation happen again.

Great job by the Horns at the tournament. Like I remember Coach G saying, I wish they would put 40 minutes together, or something like that. This team is far ahead of what I expected.

Cam had some very eyeopening stats on wins. This team isn't done yet but next season is going to be something else.

Carla is our best playmaker and she will continue to improve, including learning when to pull up and take the jumper. No one helped on the last possession so she was pretty much on her own. We needed a 3, she had the heart to take it. The rest of the team, along with her was tired. Sometimes the mind is willing but the body just can't produce. The rest of the team will also learn and improve and we will see that the next time they get in that situation.

I can't wait to see them in the NCAAs when they don't have to play back to back to back games.
