I don't gamble but when I saw that shot go in, my second thought was to check the line (first thought was 'what an unclassy move')...when I saw it was 7.5 I laughed thinking about all the gamblers that affected...and I also simultaneously raised one eyebrow.
It's not just foreign players. Bill Waltons Son did the same thing in game 2. It is pretty lame. I would hope the veterans on the team talk to them about it. The Spurs were walking off the court and he takes a 3 as time expires.
Maybe Sasha had the lakers at -7.5? I was surprised he took the shot too. Do you think ppl would have been as mad (thinking class not gambling) if he made it from 80ft away?
It was a dick move. But it's a ***** move to whine about it. Who gives a **** about losing by 8 instead of 5 other than gamblers? He was an ******* for doing it. If you're a Spur you might mention that he shouldn't have done it and then you move on. It's not even to the level of a showboating off the backboard dunk at the buzzer. He launched a three-pointer he shouldn't have launched. It's over.
Y'all sound like aggies. It's like spiking the ball after you just kicked their ***. Nothing classy about it, but if it bothers you that bad then you need to keep playing defense until the buzzer sounds. HOOK 'EM, Texdoc
Champions don't do that. Kobe wouldn't have done that. I thought the spread was Lakers -8 and my 1st reaction was the same thing (but I thought many people pushed instead of won).
I thought, 'Hey, when you have the opportunity to slay the dragon, make sure he's dead.' Then I laughed at the gamblers who were on their way to the window to get their money and the dudes who threw their tickets down in disgust before picking them up and kissing them. I have been both. Finally, I chuckled at the thought that Spurs fans would use that meaningless J as a way to make themselves feel morally superior, etc., to the Lakes, as is the wont of Spurs fan. That's the best part, really. It says 'f**k you, go home.' The players themselves didn't care at all.
So you hate spurs fans because most try to hold themselves and their team to a higher standard than the rest of the league? I never knew envy could eat up a person so much.
golly...as a disinterested party, it doesn't bother me at all. get over it spurs fans. just be thankful that you were lucky enough to draft tim duncan and get a few championships.
Is the issue that he took the shot or that he made the shot? Cuz I seriously doubt that there would be a discussion in here if that ball took a wicked clank off the rim. It's a non-issue. Get over it.
