Our tickets are overpriced now....

I am looking on ebay for extra Mizzou and Arkansas tickets and they are going below face for Arkansas (for good tickets) and just over face for top 10 ranked Missouri.

    Wow.

With the addition of 12,000 or so seats in the NEZ, our face value is now overpriced -even- for big games.

Surprised me. Tickets will be going for like $20 for Rice and Baylor if that.

Hard to say... television may be a factor. It's possible, for example, that Baylor would not be televised, and it doesn't look like Rice will be, either.

A friend of mine bought 2 for Mizzou at $95 each. He said he was disappointed and he thought he could get a better deal.

He paid $15 over face to play a top 10 team in Mizzou -and- he was disappointed b/c there was alot on the market for cheap. Wow.

I think a lot of it is due to the fact that unlike pro sports, there isn't a big difference between face value for really good seats and really crappy seats. This is likely to happen when you try to price the tickets correctly but you're charging the same price for front row seats and upper deck seats.

I'm suprised to hear that about Piggie tickets. Just yesterday afternoon, a ticket service called to offer me $250 apiece for my Arkansas tickets. Now, my seats are incredible, but still...

Very few tickets for Arkansas are going below face....if they are, they are generally the very top rows/section of the new north endzone. It also depends on if you are buying 1, 2, 4, etc together.

I've been tracking multiple EBAY auctions and have seen 2 tickets going for $75-$90 bucks (lower level, endzone), 4 tickets in the LL endzone for $95. And I just saw an auction for 5 tickets in 115 (upper level, endzone) for $120 each. So, it's all over the board.

Personally, I picked up 2 sets of 4 tickets (LL, endzone) for $100 each for my wife, friends, and I. Could I have held out and paid closer to face for tickets? Sure. But, I am also okay paying $20 extra dollars to have the tickets in hand, with parking pass, while enjoying the tailgate experience instead of looking for tickets.

I have season tickets so I don't need them for myself but I have friends coming in for both games and I was helping them find some. You are right -- NEZ upper deck seats are going for cheap but even those cheap seats are driving alot of other seats for even cheaper than they normally go.

    Put into this perspective:

Obviously our game with aggy is always higher priced. The tickets for the "RIcky Heisman" game in 1998, was face value of $33. Or half of what the FAU tickets were.

Well, that bubble, stadium expansion, leather couches, flat screen TVs, godzillatron, and Macks raise aren't going to pay for themselves.

    Cheapest ticket for each game:
Pig: $70 for top of end zone upper deck
    Rice: $20 for " " " " " "
    Mizzou: $97 for " " " " " "
    OK St: $50 for "
    Baylor: $25 for "
    tamu: $118 for "

However, the laws of supply and demand say that they are priced right since they have all been sold except for 100 or so that aren't used by the visiting team for Rice, OK St, and Baylor.

Yes they are - $65 for FAU is ridiculous.

Tickets are way over priced. I have had season tickets for 9 years now. I just had to add 4 additional seats because my daughters are now to an age they can go to the game and they need a ticket. Of course I get the last row in section 112 [IMG] I just don't see the point in buying season tickets anymore, when I can buy them on ebay/stubhub/craigslist and get to choose where I sit. I don't like the season ticket guessing game of letting the foundation decide where my seats will be. It's definately not worth $1500 for season tickets in the last row in the north upper deck. I guess since they can't sell them using the public sale they give those to their "priority season ticket holders" and save the better ones for when the tickets go on sale to the public.

UT football game tickets are NOT overpriced.

Anyone who says that they just don't want to pay what UT is charging for tickets, well, that's different.

You should just say that you are a cheapskate but that you would be a loyal fan if you only had to pay $ 50 vs $ 65 or $ 85.

If you have a product with a set price and the consuming public buys every product that is sold at that price, by free-market definition, the Price is Right! Exactly right. Maybe not enough!

Anyone who needs the extra $ 20 or $ 30 to be happy, contented supporter, send me a message and I'll hold a bake sale for ya!

I swore I'd quit drinking when beer hit $ 3.00 a six pack but guess what.

    I'll take two.
