This is one week that I am not worried about the team and coaches being focused at all. We had a tough game against Oklahoma State - a great football team. Texas Tech whipped Kansas on the road and are highly ranked and undefeated. Plus the game is in Lubbock. Therefore I think the team will be focused and ready. It is more a matter of execution now. I look for it to be a 56 to 51 type of game. As fans I don't think it is going to be diffucult for everyone to be focused at all. Just carry on as you have been doing. Those in Austin do your thing to help the team. The main thing now is the synergy . This is a big challenge this week and we must help our team be ready as best we can. GO HORNS!
My focusness is at an all-time high. I will be ready for this game, and I will be sending all the good vibes I can to Lubbock as I watch the game at my semi-local Pluckers. Beat Tech!
I am starting my FOCUSNESS extra early this week. I will be in New Orleans at a concert during the game. I will have my trusty ol hand held TV that I found after the Rose Bowl against Michigan with me.
It's only Monday morning, and already I am counting minutes and envisioning Saturday's outcome. My focusness for Tech is so damned high, I can't focus on anything else!!! Saturday evening can't get here soon enough.
Steel Shank will be driving up on Thursday. He will have a "Hook 'Em Horns" sticking out of his window for the entire drive up. This will display his focussness for all to see across this great state. In San Angelo he will have two "Hook 'Em Horns" out the window as this is the home of former UT great Randy Stout who played on the '69 and '70 teams.
That is better. We've been getting a lot of soft soap from the Horns and talk like Horns are worried. UT is going to kill us. All this worried about Tech stuff is getting old. You guys have nothing to worry about. We are overrated and just beat an overrated Kansas team.
I am focused. My Longhorn flag is flying on my truck in the office parking lot. I still vaguely remember 1994, when we rolled into Lubbock 5-2. I drank Woodchuck Cider and Wild Turkey for 36 straight hours, sat in the Tech student section hooting and hollering, wore a Masked Rider mask, and watched us get our teeth kicked in, 33-9. After the game, I dropped convenience store bean burrito all down the front of my white Polo, but I was too drunk to care. Spent my last dollar that night on a $.99 Whopper, and rode back to Austin on Sunday, broke, pissed, and smelling like cow manure. This will not happen again! (I am wearing a burnt orange Polo this time) FOCUS!
Texas Flag ready for patio deployment - CHECK Longhorns #11 jersey ready to wear on Saturday - CHECK Wearing a different piece of Longhorn gear to work all week - CHECK Focusness meter turned up to 11 CHECK!!!!
Despite History's attempt to disrupt my focussness I am locked and engaged. All I am thinking about this week is Lubbock. It is going to be a long week.
Folks, here is Mr. Harrell, the leader of our opposition this week: [Note: in order to ensure compliance with this board's NO SEX AT ALL policy, we shall not post pictures of certain pharmaceutical items in this space. We invite the reader to use his or her imagination instead. We regret any and all inconvenience.] Impeding his efforts will be critical to our success this weekend. We must focus our synergies so that Orakpo, Melton, Miller, Kindle, Acho, and the rest of our defenders will valliantly rise up, shed their blocks, and generally make life miserable for Mr. Harrell in the pocket. GO HORNS!!!
I admit, I'm not quite at maximum focusness capacity. I will correct this problem and have 1138% focusness by Saturday.
focusness engages. for good measure, i hereby vow to ignore tech friends on facebook for the next 7 days. can't take any risks...
I am in warp focusness drive. In fact I cannot focus on my work or family because my focusness is solely on Tech.
I am focused. So focused, in fact, that anyone who dares to drape themselves in pirate garb this coming Friday will suffer the very same wrath and doom that Captain Leach will experience come Saturday evening. Make no mistake, no pirate will be spared, be it a small child dressed as a Captain Jack Sparrow, or a scantily clad pirate wench. Argh!
Mine goes to eleven. I'm flat worn out from the focusness it took last week, not to mention the vibes I generated during the game Saturday. I wasn't sure if I had it in me to ramp up the focusness on Monday but then, there it was...I saw it...Bill's call to focusness! Monday's just not Monday without Sinton Bill...right now, I'm so focused that I might wet myself if I'm not careful. Thanks Bill...I needed that!
