SIAP, but the 45-35 Facebook group is now up. It is called: Texas did beat OU 45-35, lest we forget Everyone join!
Sorry the website doesn't look better. If anyone has ideas feel free to let me know and I'll change it up. Thanks
simple "45-35" The announcers on TV will have to explain why there are 10,000+ signs and what it means. The only thing to think about is when to display. Start of the 2nd quarter? start of the 3rd quarter?
you should do what they did during the halftime of the ou/texas game this year and spell out words in the entire stadium. that is you should get with belmont hall also and have every person wear an orange color shirt or a white shirt when they come to dkr on thursday so that when all the fans sit take their seats then they can spell out 45-35. it wont be a little sign but it will be a big statement made by all the fans alll aroudn the stadium. it shouldnt be a problem because belmont spelled words with the seats until a few years ago.
I get all this and all but this is the kind of **** that pisses me off. We beat them. We beat 3 of the top 12 teams. We were #1 and a dominant #1 for three weeks. We don't need signs. It is like we aren't the #2 team currently and are trying to make our case for being ahead of them, but we already are. How about signs that say something like: "bring on Ala/Fl" or something. I dunno, guess I'm not a big sign guy.
Donate $ for a Banner Plane at Gameday/ Bedlam: texas.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?SID=902&fid=500&style=2&tid=121081455&Page=2 We've got $1205 of the $1500 needed already!
Just so yall know, we started a paypal donation to raise money to have a banner plane over Gameday saturday. We're at about $1300 and we need $1500. If we go over we may try to take out newspaper ads and such, not sure. The paypal is Texas45.OU35@yahoo.com
(in response the reference of the cards held up during the UT-OU game) that was an advertisement for "loves" the truck stop or some such thing. Basically, the cards were in a bag tapped to each seat #. then the announcers told each side to hold up their cards and . . . viola it spells out the ad.
I have been involved in several political capaings. This is the coolest one yet. I'm logging off here to donate. Buy the newpaper ad. Get it done.
Just made a donation..What will this banner say exactly..Im pumped about this.. Also..have there been thoughts as to what newspaper outlet these ads will be taken out? Where would it help the most? Where are there the most voters?? Lovin every bit of this..
I agree that the signs in the stadium need to be simple...45-35 is perfect. But either in the flyover banner or in any ads, we need to remiind voters that we played OU on a neutral field. Not everyone knows that the game in our state is 50/50 on fans. They need to know.
How will anyone be able to see that plane during the night game? The sun's supposed to set at 5:15pm in Stillwater that day.
Using colored paper/signs. If you wanted to use shirts, then all white or orange. No way you would wear OU red
REMEMBER: If you are going to the game on Thursday BRING A SIGN. Even if it is 8.5 x 11, print it out in burnt orange with white letters and make it say 45-35. Print a wholte reem of them and hand them out around you. We can blanket the whole stadium this way. Secondly, we have GOT to get in contact with someone to make sure these 10,000 get in the end zones where they will be seen after every score.
Another question. How much would a full page or two pge ad cost in the USA Today? I bet we could raise the money. Run it Saturday.
I have had that nerve racking discussion with people who did not get how playing at the Cotton Bowl did not help Texas with a home field advantage. I asked them if they thought that air molecules in the State of Texas helped Texas players with some magic ingredient. And even if it did, it would affect the majority of players on the Sooners because of so many Texas kids there. No, that is not it. Well, are Texas residents able to cheer louder in their own state? Nope. Ah, because it is further away from Austin than Norman AND because it is closer to the Okie border than to any real towns in Texas...? No. What about there being more Texas alumni in Dallas? Nope, there is a fair amount of aggy, Tech, OU and others. Dang, what is the advantage? Hmmm. OH YEAH!!! Nope, nevermind. There is none. If there is an advantage it is being right over the tunnel that the players come in through. Advantage Dirt Burglars.
YES..USA TODAY FOR SURE... Every person staying at a hotel across america will see this staring at them. It brings a WHOLE NEW MEANING TO THE BOMC!!!
Does USA Today run on the weekends? I don't see it on their advertising brochure. Either way I think it's wayyyyy beyond our ability unless we got a big donor. You are talking more than $300,000 for a spread.
