I'm no chef or anything close to it, but I do like to eat and I enjoy cooking. I don't have a fire pit so I'll be using it in the kitchen. I saw a recipe for blackened chicken the other day, so that will be the maiden voyage tomorrow!

(I would gladly accept any tips from any of you Dutch Oven pros)

I have a 6-7 quart dutch oven, but I've been thinking of geting something smaller. Target has the 3.5 qt enameled cast iron dutch oven from Lodge for like $40.

Somebody convince me I need it, okay? thanks.....

I finally broke down and bought a Le Creuset knock-off form Amazon. Have used it for pinto beans, red beans, chili, soup, italian beef in the oven, etc.- one of my better purchases.

That's just wrong...no one should ever do that to a loved one.

I use ours for roasts all the time. Only I switch out about half the white potatos for sweet potatos. It add so much flavor.

And am I the only person who see's a recipe calling for 1 clove of garlic who laughs a little bit and adds 4 or 5?

Best peach cobbler I've ever eaten was made on a Dutch Oven over a campfire.
