I'm no chef or anything close to it, but I do like to eat and I enjoy cooking. I don't have a fire pit so I'll be using it in the kitchen. I saw a recipe for blackened chicken the other day, so that will be the maiden voyage tomorrow! (I would gladly accept any tips from any of you Dutch Oven pros)
I love my dutch oven. Yankee Pot Roast, from the Frugal Gourmet. Central Market's Seafood paella recipe. Paul Prudhomme's Cajun seafood gumbo And CHILI.
that chili looks gooo oooooD! same with the roast! damn, i just grilled a burger for lunch and i'm hungry again.
I have a 6-7 quart dutch oven, but I've been thinking of geting something smaller. Target has the 3.5 qt enameled cast iron dutch oven from Lodge for like $40. Somebody convince me I need it, okay? thanks.....
I finally broke down and bought a Le Creuset knock-off form Amazon. Have used it for pinto beans, red beans, chili, soup, italian beef in the oven, etc.- one of my better purchases.
I use ours for roasts all the time. Only I switch out about half the white potatos for sweet potatos. It add so much flavor. And am I the only person who see's a recipe calling for 1 clove of garlic who laughs a little bit and adds 4 or 5?
